Fairway Village

Fairway Village is a senior living community located in Indianapolis, Indiana, distinguished as an all-male community across its memory care program. The community offers Short-Term Rehabilitation, Memory Care, Long-Term Care, Respite Care, and Hospice Care, with staff describing an atmosphere focused on becoming an extension of residents' families.

Short-Term Rehabilitation is designed for individuals recovering from stroke, cardiovascular issues, orthopedic surgery, and other debilitating conditions, with the goal of helping residents return home safely. The person-centered program includes physical, occupational, and speech/language therapies, supported by an interdisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, therapists, and social workers. Through the Road to Recovery program, the care team meets with patients and families within 72 hours of admission to map out discharge goals. Additional rehabilitation services include wound care, fall prevention, contracture management, wheelchair positioning, mobility training, and strength-building and aerobic conditioning programs.

The community's Memory Care program is an all-male, structured, research-based offering built on a person-centered, wellness-based model of care. It incorporates stimulating daily activities through a Meaningful Day program addressing four domains of wellness, with an emphasis on maintaining a secure environment where residents experience a sense of belonging and purpose.

Long-Term Care at Fairway Village serves residents who need assistance with daily tasks due to illness, injury, or frailty, and is provided under physician guidance by licensed nurses and trained health care aides. Services include social activities and physical, occupational, and speech therapies aimed at helping residents maintain the highest level of independence possible in home-like, secure settings. The community accepts private pay and a variety of payment options, including Medicaid for qualified applicants, with Medicaid specialists available to assist with the application process.

Respite Care offers short-term stays for seniors, giving family caregivers a break to travel, recover from illness, or attend to other responsibilities, with the option to extend care if needed. Hospice and palliative care services are provided in partnership with local hospice companies, offering skilled nursing, spiritual and bereavement counseling, medical equipment, social services, and pharmacy support through an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, aides, and clergy.
