Bethany Village

Bethany Village is a senior living community in Indianapolis, Indiana, part of the American Senior Communities network. The community offers a full continuum of care, including short-term rehabilitation, memory care, long-term care, respite care, hospice care, and outpatient therapy, with the stated goal of helping residents and families find answers, solutions, and peace of mind.

Short-Term Rehabilitation is designed for individuals recovering from stroke, cardiovascular issues, orthopedic surgery, and other debilitating conditions. The program is person-centered and includes physical, occupational, and speech/language therapies, supported by an interdisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, therapists, and social workers. Through the Road to Recovery program, the care team meets with patients and families within 72 hours of admission to map out discharge goals. Additional services include wound care, fall prevention, nursing, contracture management, wheelchair positioning, mobility training, and strength-building and aerobic conditioning programs.

The memory care program is structured and research-based, using a person-centered, wellness-based model of care that incorporates stimulating daily activities to sustain independence and promote a healthy spirit. The program includes a Meaningful Day activity approach built around four domains of wellness, with the aim of maintaining a secure environment where residents experience a sense of belonging and purpose.

Long-Term Care at Bethany Village is intended for individuals who struggle with daily tasks and can no longer be cared for at home due to illness, injury, or frailty. Care is provided under the guidance of an attending physician by licensed nurses and specially trained health care aides, and includes social services, activities, and physical, occupational, and speech therapies aimed at helping residents maintain the highest level of independence possible. The community accepts private pay as well as a variety of payment options, including Medicaid for qualified applicants, and offers assistance through the application process.

Respite care is available for those needing short-term support for a loved one, allowing family caregivers time to travel, work, recover from illness, or attend to other needs; extended care can be arranged if a short stay requires it. Hospice and palliative care services are provided in partnership with local hospice companies and involve an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, aides, volunteers, social workers, and clergy to support patients and families with medical care, pain management, and spiritual and emotional support. Outpatient Therapy rounds out the community's offerings, combining trained therapists and current technologies to create personalized treatment plans focused on increasing mobility and reducing pain.
