Why we built this
If you've ever searched for senior living, you know how it usually goes. You enter your phone number on a website, and within an hour your phone starts ringing. Facilities you never asked about. Salespeople working from a list you didn't know you were on. In an industry built around commissions, the family's attention is the product being sold.
We thought the search should work the way the decision does: carefully, on your terms, with real information in front of you. So we built a directory where you can compare communities with real photos, honest reviews, and published pricing, and where nothing happens until you decide who gets to hear from you.
MyLivingChoice is operated by a small team in Kansas City. We keep the lights on by offering communities optional premium tools for managing their presence here, never by charging families and never by selling their information. That structure is deliberate: it means our directory works for you even when nobody is paying us.

Listings are built from public records, state licensing rosters, federal data, communities' own information, and thousands of family reviews. When communities claim their listing, they keep it current themselves.
