Luxury Senior Living

324 upscale and luxury senior living communities across 13 metros, compared on the same terms: published starting rates, the amenities each community lists, and family reviews. 29 of them work with MyLivingChoice, so we can introduce you directly.

The bar every community here meets

Every community on this list meets at least one checkable bar: a published starting rate of $6,000 a month or more; three or more of these amenities on site (professional chef, swimming pool, theater room, fitness center, salon / barber), or a community website that presents it as luxury or upscale, in both cases with no published rate below $4,500; or the word luxury in its own name.

Communities that work with MyLivingChoice appear first and carry the Partner label. Within each group the order follows how strongly a community meets the bar, then family ratings, then distance from the centre of the metro. No community pays to be on this list or to move up it, and the referral fee a partner pays never changes the order.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as luxury senior living?
There is no official definition, so MyLivingChoice uses a stated bar rather than a feeling.
How much does luxury senior living cost?
Published starting rates among the communities on these pages mostly run from about $6,000 a month upward, with care fees on top of the base rent. Most upscale communities publish no rate and quote after a tour, so each metro page shows the range among those that do.
Does a higher price mean better care?
Not by itself. Price tracks the building, the dining, the apartments and the location more than the care. Family reviews, state licence records and, for nursing care, Medicare's inspection history tell you about the care; every listing on MyLivingChoice shows what we hold.
How are these lists ordered, and who pays?
Communities that work with MyLivingChoice appear first and carry the Partner label. Within each group the order follows how strongly a community meets the bar, then family ratings, then distance from the centre of the metro. No community pays to be on this list or to move up it, and the referral fee a partner pays never changes the order. MyLivingChoice is free for families: a community that works with us pays a referral fee if you move in, and you never pay us anything.
