The good: Knowledgeable staff, Elvis the nurse was amazing, Great PT and OT . The bad: My son went into the facility on July 20 and there was no air conditioning in the hallways. They were using fans to keep it cool. The room air conditioners weren't working so on the three days that there were heat advisories there were no air conditioning by my son's room. It was 90 degrees in there for three days. There was a language barrier between the staff and my son. My son fell and hit his head and it took 30 minutes after the roommate put on the call light for someone to come and help him. PSA's while some were pleasant there were a few that was outright rude to him and he had to tell one of them off. The PSA's were extremely slow to answer call lights. I was on the phone with him one night and he put his call light on and after 35 minutes they still hadn't come to see what he needed, his sugar is as extremely high. He wasn't getting his short acting insulin for a couple days and they would not give him his meds at the time that he needed them, they were meds that needed to be taken with meals. There was one night he didn't get night time meds until 11 pm. Dietary was not sending the correct menu for my diabetic son and his sugar was incredibly high. He was signed out AMA but honestly he will get better care at home alone. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY FOR ANYONE!

Overall it has been a nice stay for me. My Husband and I share a room now. The Nurses and Aides are pleasant.

Working collaboratively with The Laurels of Norworth has consistently been a seamless and quick process in terms of accepting and meeting our patients specific needs. Aubri is very responsive regarding referrals and has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Thank you for all you do!

I stayed at Laurels of Norworth from 1/27/26 until 4/18/26. The nurses and aides are fine. The PhysicalTherapy and Occupational Therapy are absolutely awesome. Thanks to Taylor, Krierstin(the one that was having trouble with coolant in her car), and Brittany. The administration ( Cassie), who is power hungrey and the Social worker ( Marissa) are a joke, completely awful they make this a very dark place. When the Social worker found out that I would not be returning to where I was living I was threatened to be discharged to a homeless shelter. That was their plan for me. Multiple times I was threatened with being discharged to a homeless shelter. After some research I learned that being discharged to a homeless shelter in the state of Ohio is considered an unsafe discharge plan and basically illegal to do. I was using a wheelchair as my primary mobility and needed help with assisted daily living skills at the time , bathing, and dressing. Both of those wouldn't be provided for me at a homeless shelter. However they were ready to dump me off to a homeless shelter. The Social worker at one time said that she would come the next day and we could call different homeless shelters,she is just extremely awful and lacks compassion for a fellow human being. I got the Ohio Ombudsmans office involved. The rep from the Ombudsmans office came to an administration meeting I had. My sister who is a Nurse Practitioner was there too. The Obudsman rep said he had never seen the state of Ohio being ok with a nursing home discharging a person to a homeless shelter. Also the social worker (Marissa) and the Administrator (Cassie) kept giving me sober living houses(group homes) with their phone numbers to get in contact with. The sober living houses I didn't qualify to be in because I have been sober for too long. Then they gave me other group homes to call which I couldn't do because the room was upstairs. Like I said I was wheelchair bound at the time and I couldn't do stairs. The places didn't have wheelchair accessibility. Then on 4/7/26 both Marissa and Cassie came to my room 229A and woke me up. They came at me in a threatening intimidating manner (which I thought was hilarious)and told me that they were tired of me refusing to go to places they arranged for me. I told both of them that the places that they arranged for me was homeless shelters which I'm not doing, sober living group homes I didn't qualify for and other group homes that could not meet my needs. The Social worker and the Admin. said " Well we are not going to go into that" and kept repeating we are tired of you refusing to go to the places we have found for you. The harassment and intimidation from them was off the hook. I'm a Veteran from the Army that has PTSD and they continued to activate my triggers associated with PTSD. They knew that I had PTSD it was in my file with them and they didn't care about that. I really don't think they understand PTSD and should have more training in the that area. I would definitely not recommend for anybody to send a loving family member to Laurels of Norworth at all. There are other places that your loved one would probably be taken better care of Admin. and Social worker wise. Also I want to mention that the Administrator ( Cassie) proudly boasted that they had discharged people to homeless shelters before. I had my sister as my biggest advocate while I was there and they still tried these games. I can't imagine how they treat people that have no advocacy at all.
