My aunt has dementia and has been placed here. I have mixed reviews on how I feel about the facility. Some of the staff seem extremely kind and nice others seemed as though they were just there for a job and it makes me wonder how she is being treated at times. All in all she seems to be taken care of we visit frequently to make sure they know that someone cares about her and how she's being treated. The cleanliness is questionable at times it smells very bad other times not so much. I understand they have a huge task with so many patients.

I had a very concerning experience with this facility. Cleanliness appears to be a serious issue—on multiple occasions I observed medical waste, including used gauze, not being properly disposed of. This raises important questions about hygiene and safety standards.<br><br>In addition, the professionalism of both the front desk and medical staff was disappointing. Communication often felt dismissive, and it was difficult to get timely, attentive support for my family member’s needs.<br><br>I was also troubled by the condition of the environment. There was a persistent odor of marijuana in the hallways, which appeared to be coming from staff smoking in the bathrooms during their shifts. This is highly inappropriate in a healthcare setting and adds to the overall lack of professionalism.<br><br>Most concerning was the apparent lack of attention to patient care. Despite clearly communicating that my family member is diabetic, there were instances where meals provided did not align with those dietary restrictions. This is a serious oversight that could have significant health consequences. The staff’s response to this was that their system was down and they could not read the notes and didn’t want to take the patient’s word for her own health diagnosis.<br><br>Overall, the facility did not feel clean, professional, or patient-centered, and I left feeling very uneasy about the quality of care being provided to my family member during her stay. I am truly shocked this place is able to stay open knowing that they are regularly going through inspections….

My nephew has been a patient here for several years. He is blind, in renal failure and needs dialysis 3 times a week. For the most part he receives good treatment. However, they are chronically understaffed, especially on weekends. He has no teeth and needs me mechanically altered food He has had multiple talks with a dietitian. He is a 7th Day Seventh Day Adventist and does not eat pork or pork products. But he gets them sent to him any way sometimes. Also they frequently send him.raw salads that he cannot chew, having no teeth. When we were there on March 29th, we found his closet on a state of chaos. It was impossible to find anything. Everything was simply tossed on the floor And someone had tossed a wrought iron table on top of everything else that didn't belong to him. It took three of us several hours to clean that closet out. There were opened packages of gause and bandages that were not longer sterile. Half used tubes of ointment that were out of date. Some had no lids. Clean and dirty clothes were just tossed into the mix. There was a broken stethoscope. Lots of trash. Two years worth of unopened mail. My nephew is blind. He can't read. A fixed bottles of bottled water just tossed in there. We golfed his clean clothes and put them away in his dresser and took two plastic bags of dirty clothes home to wash.. The junk piled in there on the floor was waist high. All of his socks were missing. Most of the time when zO call to talk to him, there is no one on the switch board or at the nurses station. I'm supposed to be make ng his medical decisions, but I'm kept out of the loop. On the two plus years he's been there I have never been able to speak to any of his doctors regarding his care. He is not ambulatory and needs an air mattress He initially had one, but while he was in the hospital they gave it to someone else. They ordered him a new one I was there the day it came. But that too was given to someone else He has had pressure sores So I bought him a hospital grade air mattress for him. They refused to hook it up for him. Since he's blind, he can't see to dial out on the phone. His girl friend heard some of the staff complaining because he asked them to dial out for him. They said, "We never had to do that before!" Recently he put his call light on to be cleaned up. In beknownst to him, several other people put their light on for the same reason. The a. ide yelled at him for putting his light on. Apparently, they only had one person to do that whole unit. How was this my nephews fault? If he feels up to it, he likes to go to bingo. A couple of weeks ago, they say him by another resident who presented his presence That guy thought my nephew was someone he didn't like. But my nephew had never seen him before No one intervened. They just stood there and let that guy berate my nephew. Since then, my nephew hasn't been that keene to go to bingo any more. He has been very depressed lately and said, 'I don't think they like me. He did have a counselor who saw him every week, now she only sees him once a month. And he is very depressed. His mother passed away in 2023. He and his mother were very close. Now that he doesn't have a counselor, he has no one to talk to about it. He says the medicine they give him for depression doesn't help. Also a little over a month ago, he fell out of bed and couldn't get to his call light to summon someone. He asked to have a bed with guard rails on it. They have him one , then promptly have to someone else. He can't see to tell when he's too close to the edge. They told him.mot .
