My brother passed away here and I appreciate them taking care of him. But their communication skills with family is a must and up to the end, this place did not do that. No one knows what is going on and they transfer you all over the place. No one is available to talk to. I would think twice before putting a family member into this place. Please do your homework with these places. If you can afford to take care your family member at home, do that before placing them into a nursing home. The place was clean and well kept.

I am assisting friends as they get their mother settled in to Autumn Care of Chesapeake while she recovers from an injury. I could weep with relief at the amazing kindness and attentiveness shown to the patient and us. This lady was a transfer from another facility and the improvement from there to Autumn Care Chesapeake is remarkable. All staff have been friendly, but more importantly, they have provided a detailed plan from her moving in, to bathing, therapy, diet, etc. Everyone has set expectations, met and then exceeded them! The communication regarding care has been top notch. This is a peaceful, clean and pleasant care facility and I am over the moon for this family to have their mother being cared for with such expertise. Truly heartwarming and I thank each and every person we have come in contact with for their patience and professionalism. This woman’s daughters and I all work in the healthcare field and can testify to the extraordinary care being given to the patients and the visitors who love them by this incredible and dedicated team!

My mom was there was physical therapy. She was scheduled to b there for 20 days, but because they saw her to be high functioning, they discharged her after 5 days. The fscilty was clean and vwell lit which is important because my mom'svision issue. When we arrived, the toilet in her room was broken so they put her in another room. She absolutely appreciated the care a professionalism of the physical therapist and sung his praises every day. There were 2 nurses both RN, who was warm, sweet and professional and because of it, my mom was convinced to stay and give them a chance and my brother and I felt safe leaving her there. My mom constantly complained about how unprofessional the nurses station was during the evening. She was in the 400 hall and constantly complained about how rude they were. My mom, being a retired cna thought it was highly disrespectful to be told by a nurse that she would be in her room to administrate her insulin. It was 920pm when I heard her say, " I'm coming" I left at 10pm and the nurse was at the station on her phone. My mom couldn't wait to come home.

The admin staff at this facility was great. My mom stayed at this facility for rehab and they were very responsive and knowledgeable. They were patient with me and my mom and took the time to explain my mom’s situation and medical needs. I appreciate all of their help and would recommend it. S. Elliot, another social worker, and T White were all very helpful and patient.

My mom has been at this facility for a couple weeks now. She will be discharged next week. I've always be skeptical about nursing homes and how they treat their patients, but I must say, I was really satisfied with this facility. Everyone i met and greeted visiting my mom were always pleasant. The facility does not have a terrible smell, but pleasant smell and clean. When I leave, I feel comfortable that my mom will be taken care of.
