Washington Healthcare Center is a senior care community in Indianapolis, Indiana, part of the American Senior Communities network. Short-Term Rehabilitation is designed for individuals recovering from strokes, cardiovascular issues, orthopedic surgery, and other debilitating conditions, with the aim of helping residents return home safely. The program is person-centered and includes physical, occupational, and speech/language therapies alongside an interdisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, therapists, and social workers. Through the Road to Recovery program, the care team meets with the patient and family within 72 hours of admission to establish discharge goals. Additional rehabilitation services include wound care, fall prevention, contracture management, wheelchair positioning, mobility training, and walking ability programs, supported by strength-building and aerobic conditioning offerings.
The memory care program is structured and research-based, using a person-centered, wellness-based model that incorporates stimulating daily activities intended to sustain independence and support a healthy spirit. The approach focuses on maintaining a secure environment where residents experience a sense of belonging, including a
