About Elevate Care Abington

Elevate Care Abington is a 192-bed skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Glenview, Illinois. It serves residents requiring rehabilitation, wound care, memory care, hospice, and ongoing medical management, including specialized support for dialysis patients.

Family feedback reveals a facility with stark inconsistencies. Several families praise attentive nursing staff, cleanliness, and responsive care coordination, particularly noting staff communication and dignity in care. One family wrote, "They treated her with dignity and respect, even in challenging situations." Administrators have reportedly improved conditions after family advocacy. However, a significant number of families report serious lapses: inadequate hygiene assistance, staff shortages, poor food quality, inconsistent medication and equipment management, and communication breakdowns around care plans and medical coordination. Complaints about insufficient bathing frequency, hygiene lapses in food preparation, and unmet assistance requests appear repeatedly across negative reviews.

With a 4.5-star rating across 201 reviews, Elevate Care Abington shows both strong individual staff dedication and systemic care gaps. Prospective residents and families should expect variable experiences and may want to clarify staffing levels and care protocols before admission.

This place deserve 0 starts!!

My family member stayed at this nursing home, and our experience was very disappointing. They were only given a bath once a week, which is completely unacceptable for a facility that is supposed to provide proper care.
The building is dirty, poorly maintained, and looks very neglected. It is nothing like the photos they advertise online. The pictures make the place look clean and welcoming, but the reality is the exact opposite.
Based on our experience, I would not recommend this nursing home to anyone looking for a safe, clean, and caring environment for their loved one.

This is the worst place you could ever take a loved one. If you have a problem, don't expect them to help you.

My father-in-law was discharged without a safe discharge plan. Out of everything that went wrong during this process, I'll mention just one example: they never confirmed this decision with his primary care physician. When we tried to arrange the medical equipment he needed, such as a hospital bed and wheelchair, they actually asked us what equipment he needed. Seriously? Isn't it their job to evaluate their patients and determine their medical needs?

Now they want us to return all of this equipment even though half of his body is paralyzed. It's completely ridiculous. Our family has had to do their job because of their inefficiency. On top of that, the staff's attitude has been disrespectful, dismissive, and unacceptable—especially toward a family going through such a difficult and vulnerable time.

To make matters worse, after he left the rehabilitation center, we discovered that his primary care physician had resigned. We then had to find a new doctor before we could get approval for his medications, physical therapy, speech therapy, and other essential care. We also lost access to the medical equipment mentioned above. We have been left completely without support, and not once did anyone from the facility call to follow up or even ask whether we had found a new primary care physician.

This place is all about appearances and Google reviews. Our experience has been incredibly disappointing, and I would never recommend it to anyone who truly wants quality care for a family member.

Abington staff were consistently patient, kind, and compassionate throughout my loved one’s month-long stay. They treated her with dignity and respect, even in challenging situations. My family member could be a difficult patient at times, but the team remained understanding, professional, and supportive. Their dedication, encouragement, and commitment to providing quality care made a difficult time much easier for our family. The business office was very easy to work—always easy to reach and excellent communicators—and the social work team was compassionate and knowledgable.
