Since the VOA sold the Homestead to Monarch industries we've had a few conflicts. I've tried to contact management to deal with these issues twice and nobody has gotten back to me. They've authorized treatments without proper okay from us and have failed to explain or to clarify various expenses on the monthly bill. Extremely hard to keep track if expenses when nobody will return calls!

The Homestead staff treated my mother and my family like we were their own family. They were very flexible with her accommodations and helped us without fuss both times my mom needed to move apartments while she was there. I visited many facilities throughout the metro and I will forever be grateful that they took us in and took such great care of my mom during the last couple years of her life. Without their care and compassion I don't think we would have gotten those last couple of years.

We are happy that my dad likes it there. He gets plenty of help with Landry, showers, medications, and etc. And he likes the food. Plus they help out the zoom visits. Sometimes I bring over a meal for him, and we eat together via FaceTime. The staff is very accommodating. Although we can do outside visits, they don't work as my dad has to read lips to tell what I am saying, and the mask interferes.

My mother lived at the Homestead at Maplewood for two years. The care she received there was wonderful. My siblings and I could not have been more happy for her. She had a very bright cheery studio apartment that had plenty of room. The Home Health staff was very attentive to her and kept us updated on how she was doing. They were also happy to receive our phone calls for updates and concerns. They truly worked as a team with us. This was appreciated as we all lived in other states. The management was also very helpful and promptly answered any concerns or questions we had. It seems that most of the staff has worked there for several years and work well together. It was also a plus to have the Maplewood Care Center on the campus as my mother used it a couple of times for transitional care after getting our of the hospital. I highly recommend the Homestead at Maplewood. Jackie Thomas Jacqueline Thomas
