I lived at the Gables for 6 months, leaving this month (April). My stay was a horrible experience. In the 6 months, my unit flooded 4 times, the kitchen sink and the toilet. It was dirty, especially the hallways. Staff and activities were OK. Now living at Linden Knoll Senior Appts., which I highly recommend. Good luck.

As a former resident of the The Gables of Brighton I'm happy to report that as of my leaving 10/01/2025 there have been some significant improvements overall. Food, maintenance, activities and other areas deficient in the past have improved. There is a ways to go but in my current assessment of The Gables I'm happy to report improvements across the board. Sincerely, Joseph DelVecchio

EDIT Oct 13 2024 - I wanted to send another update. I was just informed that despite things continuing to get worse - they are raising the rent in January. This is a classic example of a management company that buys places like this - drastically cuts cost to turn a profit and then flips it when it no longer fits their portfolio. I know that it is hard when you need to find a place like this or you are trying to find your loved one a place to stay. But any person who tells you that the Gables is good either knew it before this past year happened or is lying to you. I’m trying to help you and your families with this review. I’ve submitted many surveys to them of which they did nothing about. Now all that is left is to try and help others stay away. EDIT SEPT 5th 2024 - Continued to go down hill - find somewhere else - trust me you will hate it there. For those considering the Gables - please be warned that things have gotten worse since most of these good reviews that were written a year ago. My Dad has lived at the Gables over the past year and an half and things have gone down hill in many ways. The food quality is worse, the staff changeover has been many, and the care of management has decreased significantly. I received a notice recently that the management group that was running the Gables is giving over ownership. I hope that this decision will bring change that will help restore the Gables to what it was before and even better. But for now, I’d recommend that people strongly consider other options. Especially factoring in the price. The price does not match the value.

I have had the pleasure of meeting with James McLellan, Director of Sales and Marketing. He made our decision to make the Gables of Brighton my Mom's new "home" an easy one. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The community is bright, cheery and clean. We look forward to moving Mom into her newly remodeled 1 bedroom apartment. I will sleep well knowing my Mother will be under the loving care of Lynn and her team! Thank you to James and to the Gables of Brighton Team of Professionals!

I moved my mother out of her lifelong home and into The Gables of Brighton in early March 2020. The Gables was highly recommended to me, but before I did, I met with the Sales Manager, toured the facility, ate dinner in their dining room, and talked to as many of the staff members and residents as I could. I found an up-to-date facility that was clean, warm, inviting and designed to provide “homey” spaces for individual, small group and large group gatherings. The dining room is large with ample natural lighting. Table linens, menu choices and individual service give it a true restaurant feel, and the food is excellent. The Sales Manager worked closely with me, personally introduced me to key staff members, thoroughly explained the lease and options available and then went the “extra mile” to ensure that we could get my mother moved in quickly. The one-bedroom apartment was renovated, clean and move in ready. The staff at The Gables are all genial professionals dedicated to promoting and maintaining the quality of life of every resident. The residents are friendly, caring, and interactive, which makes a big difference. The transition for a senior moving into a new living situation takes time and adjustments, and the staff at The Gables have been there every step of the way. In my mother’s situation, the “normal” transition has been complicated by the Covid-19 pandemic. The prompt, compassionate and thorough response of the staff have kept my mother safe and healthy. My mother loves her new apartment and has settled in very nicely. I am convinced that she is living in one of the best senior living facilities in the Rochester area.
