I cannot shout loudly enough from the rooftops: keep your loved ones OUT of this dreaded place, especially if they are unable to advocate for themselves. My father was admitted about 2.5 weeks ago to recover after an acute issue landed him in the hospital, and then died there this weekend, presumably of a separate problem that developed while in their "care." (Very scant notes that include errors make it hard to know exactly what happened). While there are many nice individuals who work at Care One, it was massively disorganized and clear that if we family members did not actively push for even basic things -- like making sure the belongings of the previous resident were removed from his room, that piles of linens were removed from the floor, that he was wearing his own clothes (which they lost for over a week upon arrival), that he washed up and was taken outside even when no visitors were present-- they likely would not occur. I am shocked that this place was recommended to us, both via online ratings and by the care coordinators at an otherwise excellent hospital, both because it is grossly inaccurate and suggests how terrible other facilities are. In short: stay far, far away from CareOne. If someone had been this clear with me before, perhaps I would not be writing my father's obituary today.

Dear "Owner" of Care One, This is an opportunity for you to contact me personally before I write a 4+ page letter on this site with information about Care One, Newton facility current business practices, your employees and staff members before I take my next steps; file complaints with government agencies and other entities that govern over you, with the ability to effect your rating, licenses, community standing, reputation and or legal liabilities. My personal information and contact number can be retrieved from Fraysha Rodney or Chantel Patel as they are very familiar with my grievances and advocacy in regards to a patient currently under their care. I deem it only fair that you be provided an opportunity to hear said complaints and or grievances simply because those issues may not have reached the desk of overseers, general operations manager, district manager, board members or other indiviuals responsible for the day to day operations of Care One (Newton). This is that opportunity. Thank you for your time and attention in this matter. Respectfully Submitted __________ Update: To date the "Owner" has not contacted me directly and has not left a telephone number outside the one posted that leads right back to the facility and staff members that caused complaints to be filed in the first place. I left a message with the Lead Receptionist here to give to The Owner.........two weeks has gone by, still no response. Stay tuned in because Pandora's Box is officially open! Read through these reviews and you will find a common view of this facility. If you have a loved one already placed here, keep a log of every incident, complaint or concerns, people involved, dates/times, emails, transcripts/notes. Take pictures of injuries, bed sores or any other violations of care especially if your loved one has any kind of mental, cognitive issues, as you may be the only voice for the ones they prey on the most. Keep in mind that they do not have a system electronically or otherwise that logs in incidents with residents (as stated) = no paper trail, no evidence, no accountability!

Visiting Mom I found every team member friendly and helpful. It’s hard work rehabilitating from surgery and CareOne got Mom ready to go home and I’m grateful! The caring staff followed up after discharge to see how she’s doing and to assure her care continued at home with visiting nurses and physical therapy. After 27 years working in a long term care facility I know it takes dedication, compassion and commitment working in the rehabilitation field and everyone at CareOne showed that…Nelson, Mary, Daniella, Nelda and so many others I wish I could name and thank for their care and kindness. You guys do great work. THANK YOU!!🙏 Mark P

My experience with CareOne at Newton was a very positive one, and I’m truly grateful for the care my grandmother received during her stay. The staff made a difficult time much easier for our family, and it gave us peace of mind knowing she was in good hands. I especially want to recognise Jaylen, who went above and beyond in taking care of my grandmother in her long term unit. Jaylen was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive, always making sure she was comfortable and treated with dignity and respect. It was clear that he genuinely cared, and that meant so much to us. The compassion and dedication shown by staff members like Jaylen really stand out and make a lasting impression. I would definitely recommend CareOne at Newton to others looking for a place where their loved ones will be treated with care and kindness.
