**HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND*** my mom was discharged from a stay in the hospital due to having a stroke. So it was recommended for her to have a short term stay at a rehab. I toured a couple facilities. And decided to go with aviata because it was a private room available and I knew my mom would be comfortable in a private space. Prior to my mom arriving. My daughter and I arrived to set up her space and bring all her personal belongings. “We asked the admission Tammy if the room had been clean and she stated yes and that it was a card stating that it was” as we walk in I immediately smell an odor and noticed poop stains all over the floor. Reported the problem to Housekeeping and they came in and quickly solved that problem…. Ok my mom arrived Thursday. And I was there waiting on her. So I got her settled. Wipe her down and took the hospital gown off her and got her into her pjs. No one came in to assess her. ( aids asked me if I had seen any open sores on her ) but that was all. A couple workers also popped in to introduce them self but that was all. No one provided hands on care. So fast forward to Friday the next day. I came in that next morning to my mom in her wheelchair shivering she was also poppy. So immediately took her into the bathroom to clean her up. I asked the aid for a shower chair she brought it but did not offer to assist. My daughter arrived and we both showered mom and got her dress and then took my mom out for lunch. *Beware Front desk lady isn’t friendly btw* no greeting no smile nothing! Brung mom back later Friday afternoon and got her tucked into bed. But something drove me back to the facility later that evening. To find my mom into a deep sleep where she open her eyes when she is called but that is all, she doesn’t say anything. I quickly asked the aid how long has she been like this aid states she wouldn’t wake up for her when she brought in her dinner tray so she took it back. So I ask for blood sugar to be checked and was told they was doing shift change and was counting the cart, while I’m still trying to get my mom to respond. But she still in the deep sleep state and not responding. I ended up requesting for 911 to be call and was told that they would have to contact to the doctor first. So maybe about 10 minutes pass of going back and forth with aviata employees and waiting for care for my mom to where I had to call 911 myself. Thank god I did. Spoke with “DON Kendra” Monday 6/1 after this accident was told more training was going to be extended to the employees and she was going to put in a grievance and would follow up with me within 24hrs. Well today is Saturday 6/6. And has yet to hear from this facility. My mom is now recovered and is being discharged from largo medical to a different facility. To receive the care, compassion, priority, and rehabilitation aviata couldn’t provide!!
