I will try to offer a fair assessment and give some thoughtful advice when searching for care for your loved one. Joel and his front office team are responsive and professional, and they will set up care immediately. The care, however, will be mixed. We had caregivers that had weeks of experience and some that had many years of experience. We had caregivers that were licensed and registered and some that had no license or certification of any kind. Make sure you know the difference between CNAs, HHAs and companions. I highly recommend doing intense interviews and asking a lot of questions. Take advantage of doing short term meet and greets with everyone. Keep in mind that the company is strictly a caregiver registry; they only do background checks. We had to turn several caregivers away - one because of some very concerning reasons. Fortunately, we found a couple of fantastic caregivers and everything worked out in the end, but the path was anything but smooth. I honestly do not know if this is typical of all caregiver registries, or if there is a better way, but I would not leave your loved one alone with any of these caregivers until you fully "vet" them yourselves.

Follow up: After discussing this with family members, we added a star to account for our quickly changing needs and lack of education. I will, however, reiterate that we encountered lacking caregivers at each step of the process and we do not believe that the company adequately screens their caregivers. We interviewed one caregiver who readily admitted that she ignores family wishes and gave a detailed account of punching a patient. I never would have expected someone like this could have gotten through the vetting process.
