Autumn Lake Healthcare is the best rehab center. The reason I say this is because of all the employees that work there. I came to this rehab center with a fractured ankle and I was not able to walk. The day I was admitted to Autumn Lake all of the employees that were on duty came and introduced themselves and told me that soon I will be able to walk out fully recovered. So on June 4th I was able to walk out of the rehab after 8 weeks of stay
The nurses,the nurses assistants,the kitchen staff,the therapist, the house keeping staff ,the doctors, the social workers, the supervisors, the maintenance department,the activity employees, the laundry employee all worked in unity to make my stay pleasant. If you or your family are looking for a rehab center, Autumn Lake Healthcare is the one and only place for you. Thank you so much
Autumn Lake Health care at Oak Manor has the best people working for them . When I arrived to this rehab center, I was in a lot of pain and discomfort
. I arrived in ambulance from the hospital around 8pm.. All the care providers that were on duty that night gave me The Red Carpet Treatment. They told me that everything will be ok and with the help of God and the therapists, I will soon be able to walk out of the rehab center. Guess what? On June 4th I walked out of there. So what makes this rehab center special? The one thing that makes it special is the human touch of each employee. From the person at the front of the house to the nurses, the supervisors, the social workers, the doctors, the nurse supervisors, the activity department, the kitchen department, the maintenance employees, the cleaning department, the therapists and the nurse assistants and laundry department,all are excellent excellent human beings.
As I was laying in my bed, I asked myself if I could be able to do what they do for one day? My answer was no, I can't even do it for five minutes.
When an organization has excellent people working for them that organization has the best asset. So Autumn Lake Health care should be proud of all there employees. The reason I did not name names is because everyone was excellent .
Finally I would like to thank God for being treated by The Great Employees of Autumn Lake Health care. If you or your family need rehab then Autumn Lake Health care should be your first and only choice. Thank you Autumn Lake and good bye.

After posting my original review, the facility publicly responded encouraging me to contact them to discuss my concerns further. I did exactly that and reached out as instructed, hoping to finally receive answers, accountability, or at the very least a meaningful conversation regarding my grandmother’s care. Unfortunately, I received no response, no returned phone call, and no follow-up despite my efforts.
This lack of response only reinforced the concerns our family experienced throughout my grandmother’s stay: poor communication, lack of accountability, and disregard for the concerns of patients’ families. It is deeply disappointing that even after publicly acknowledging my review and inviting further discussion, there was still no effort made to genuinely address what occurred or communicate with our family.
Families dealing with the illness or loss of a loved one deserve compassion, responsiveness, and transparency. Sadly, our experience continued to fall short in all of those areas.

It is with profound sadness that I write this review regarding my grandmother’s stay at Autumn Lake Rehabilitation in Burtonsville, MD, where she ultimately passed away. Our family entrusted this facility with her care, hoping for a safe, compassionate environment, but unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations. I feel it is important to share the full scope of what happened to help others make informed decisions and to encourage the facility to address serious shortcomings.
From the beginning, communication with staff was inconsistent and often dismissive. Requests for updates on my grandmother’s condition were delayed, vague, or overlooked entirely. On multiple occasions, critical information about her health was not shared in a timely manner, leaving our family anxious and uncertain about her wellbeing. Even simple questions about her daily care or treatment plan were met with indifference, which made us feel powerless and unheard.
During her stay, my grandmother experienced repeated instances of neglect. Basic needs such as assistance with mobility, personal hygiene, and medication were frequently delayed or missed. Watching her struggle in these moments was heartbreaking, and it became necessary for our family to intervene repeatedly to ensure she received proper care. These were not isolated incidents—they were part of a pattern that caused unnecessary suffering.
Equally distressing was the lack of empathy and compassion shown by some staff members. While we understand that healthcare work is demanding, my grandmother deserved patience, dignity, and human kindness—especially in her final days. Instead, we witnessed rushed responses and cold interactions that made her—and us—feel like burdens rather than patients deserving of care.
Toward the end of her stay, we were pressured to make decisions about her discharge before she was fully stabilized. This premature push caused significant stress and put her safety at risk. It was clear that efficiency was being prioritized over patient wellbeing, leaving us frustrated and heartbroken.
I do want to acknowledge that a few staff members were kind and genuinely tried to help, and their efforts did not go unnoticed. However, these individuals were exceptions in an overall environment that failed to provide the standard of care my grandmother deserved.
Losing my grandmother was devastating, and it is painful to reflect on the neglect, poor communication, and lack of empathy that characterized her time at Autumn Lake Rehabilitation. I share this review not out of anger, but in the hope that it prompts the facility to examine its practices, prioritize patient safety and dignity, and ensure that no other family experiences the same difficulties we endured.
My grandmother deserved compassionate, attentive care in her final days—care that Autumn Lake Rehabilitation regrettably failed to provide. I sincerely hope this review encourages meaningful change for the sake of future patients and their families.
Our missionary team visit Oak Manor every 2nd Friday of the month. Today’s visit was very good, the staff is always friendly and welcoming. The activities director and her team especially Ms Jackie help to make our short time there joyous and we feel appreciated. The environment at Oak Manor is very clean, neat and pleasant. Everyone that we encounter are professional.
To whom it may concern, I am here for the purpose of rehabilitation to my lower extremities due to both of meningitis, and I must command miss Trisha, who is the housekeeping developer here she had taken me back in noticing the way how she inspects each individual room, the drapes and the total surrounding of the residence here I am claiming her employee of the year. Last but not least The Therapy department is is outstanding. I came in here, not walking now today’s date I’m able to walk. They are very clear and loving and I must say they take time with you. It’s no rush. I thank God. I’m back to my whole health. I give the staff around the 👏🏿 applause.👏🏿 GNA Helen and Jules they doing a phenomenal job they treat me with care , I recommend this facility 100%. Clean is like I was home.
