About Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Harlingen

Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Harlingen is a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Harlingen, Texas, with a licensed capacity of 154 beds. The center serves patients recovering from surgery, serious illness, and injury who need intensive rehabilitation and medical support.

Families consistently praise the facility's physical therapy and rehabilitation teams, with multiple accounts of significant functional recovery, patients progressing from near total immobility to independent walking, and individuals discharged home months earlier than expected. Named therapists like Jay, Patrick, Darnell, and Jessie receive particular recognition for their care and attention. The nursing and housekeeping staff also earn positive mentions for professionalism and compassion, though experiences vary: some families note excellent wound care and attentive daily support, while others report slower response times and inconsistent housekeeping standards. Only issue I had was getting my pain medicine. Have to wait until required time to ask for them. But had to wait 45 minutes to an hour and a half to get them. Which is not easy on the patient when they were already in pain after total knee replacement. Staff was kind. Diana ( I believe that was her name she has been there 35 years) was fabulous taking care of my needs. Water, food, shower , ice packs. Room was clean. Food was good. Rehab twice daily had me walking right away. Went home after 2 weeks can walk with a cane. Will be back for additional physical therapy.

The PT folks were awesome. Jose, Julio, Jesse, Patrick, Darnell, Alex, Gabby, Maria, etc. All were very friendly and called me by name. Jise and Julio worked with me the most. San Juana and Diana were very friendly and helpful with in-room needs. The food left a lot to be desired. Too much of the same thing every day. Had to supplement with food brought in by my husband.

My mom had femur surgery and went in for rehab for 3 weeks. I'd Like to make a shout out to Chris Zarape for being professional, informative and kind as to giving my mom a hug at our vehicle upon departure. Don't forget that minor follow up Chris...
