I had to come here for physical therapy after back surgery. Some of the staff was friendly, others not so much. The night staff always seemed to be short staffed I would hit my button in my room & sometimes it would be couple of hours before I saw a nurse & sometimes I wouldn't get my pain meds til after 11p. The room itself was not comfortable. The bed was very hard & made it hard to sleep. I was told I would have to buy the foam cover to put on top of mattress to make it more comfortable. I think as much money they get from insurance they should have some on hand. The bathroom floor would also get slippery because there was no vent in the bathroom. Therapy employees for the most part were friendly. I didn't like how they had me work on my arms when my issue was my legs & foot. Only one of the therapists I didn't like. Lucky I only had her help me once & that was my first day of therapy, all the others were friendly & also made suggestions for when I went home.

My Mother has been a resident of thus facility for several years now, I am so pleased with Regency at Westland, from walking in the front door, there is not a unpleasant smell of urine or feces. You are always welcome by the front door staff, I stop in the business office were Tina and Jamela just to say hi. The room are spacious each person has there television and phone and private bathroom, which is always clean. I usually see Bonnie her nurse, but it does not matter they are all pleasant. Tina, Lee, Shelia, Angel and Kim attend to my mother in one way or another they are all very good and show Love for her like family. They have an activity room where something always going on from Bingo, movies, games and music , they are kept busy. There is a dinning room with table cloths and usually a flower that makes it pleasant for the residents. They also do parties with the residents depending on the holiday. I know I have missed some staff, but everyone here is family. If my mother needs any maintenance it’s a call away and normally he is there within minutes. And right now his name is a blank but he is good at what he does. Thank you Regency at Westland

I would like to express our sincere appreciation to Ms.Hurtt the new ADON at Regency at Westland. From the moment she became involved in our loved one's care she demonstrated professionalism,compassion and exceptional leadership. Ms.Hurtt was always approachable,responsive to our concerns,and took time to ensure our family understood the plan of care. Her positive attitude, dedication, and commitment to resident well-being were truly inspiring. We are grateful for the support,kindness and reassurance she provided during a challenging time. Regency is fortunate to have such a caring and knowledgeable nursing leader.

Over the last 10 years I've had 3 different relatives admitted here at Regency of westland. This is a beautiful place they do have private rooms with lots of space. The staff works with the patients and thier families. I personally witnessed other patients and thier families complaining about things that could be taken care of with simple communication. This place has fantastic staff members and care givers as well as physical therapist. This place is not a place to drop your family members off and expect them to fix all of your problems and needs you have to work with them.My last patient there was my own mother and required help getting to the bathroom they were fantastic about coming to help anytime she asked yes sometimes she had to wait a few minutes but they let her know. All 3 of My relatives said the food was pretty good they also offer alternatives from the daily menu. This place is very clean and right from walking in the front door you are greeted with smile and hello. I will be recommending this place to anyone needing help with family members. Please have patience and support for the staff as well as your patient.

My mom simply need occupational and physical therapy. She also needed treatment for a bed sore. She left Regency with a stage four bed sore and very little time spent in therapy. There are members of the staff who care and work well with the patients but there are too many who do not care. I do appreciate Ray, Renee and a few others who work there. The administrator was very easy to talk with but it is unfortunate that she is surrounded by too many staff members who simply do not have a passion for their job. There is not enough staff there to meet the needs of all the patients. Members of the staff call off because the are not happy with their work environment. My mother had to leave Regency and go to the hospital. False information was sent to the hospital about the overall health of my mother. They listed my mother as a bedridden person who had to leave their facility and go to the hospital because of her mental capacity. That was not the case. She was having difficulty breathing and she had an elevated heart rate. Once my mother left the hospital and went to another rehab facility, they immediately evaluated her and said, "She is not bedridden, she is just weak." And, of course she was weak because she stayed in bed while at Regency. Deborah, one of the head nurses has awful bedside manner. She has no patience and literally interrupted me when I was trying to explain some important details about my mothers condition. This is also a facility where one staff member is likely to point fingers about the poor work ethics of another staff member. I must also add, they need a new dietitian.
