Father in law spent 3 weeks at HH of Keller. He said the aides/ nurses were real nice and the therapist was nice. Being a diabetic was challenging here. Inconsistent blood sugar checks and inconsistent medication administration times. Would receive insulin after he ate instead of before. Thankfully he wore a glucose monitor and would call us when his sugar was close to 400 and we would run up there to see that it was addressed. Getting a call light answered took an act of congress. Maybe short staffed? No diabetic diet offered and he rarely received what he actually ordered to eat. On 2 separate nights, his protein was one small chicken wing. He got breathing treatments but never would come back to remove nebulizer mask. There was no communication with the family in the form of a care conference, etc. the only time we received a call was when I requested to speak to someone and they did respond and they were nice. The best thing was that it was close to our house so we could run over easily to see him.
