My mother died at this facility she had cancer they did not facilitate transport to chemotherapy she had numerous items stolen from her was talked to poorly by staff had bed sores and a pressure ulcer on her foot from poor care and was physically assaulted by a staff member because the staff member was upset with another resident and took it out on my mother-this isnt the place for you or your loved ones they are understaffed and while some likely care thats not the culture i experienced with these people

If you received this as a choice from Baylor Scott With stop. Go with someone else unless your plan is for your loved one to be in long term care only. There is no checking or initial nesting with Poas, guardians, or family members. There is no phone directory or guidelines for laundry and all laundry and undergarment’s is considered communal regardless of names are them or additional measures are taken from administration should the family want to do her own laundry. Those of us who have brought it up fall on deaf ears and the majority of our time is spent navigating accusations and excuses. You will want to buy a new wardrobe and keep the receipts to which you will have them lost or stolen per the few caregivers who visit. their social worker failed to do a proper check in It took six days and check in included no documentation of what to bring, how much, how they protect her property, she spelled the patients name wrong, told me she was going to change my moms health insurance to which I told her no, and to “bring clothes she likes”, which were then stolen because not marked with their name. They put a sign that her poa does laundry. More clothes were stolen. Her poa put up an additional sign and supplied a bag that specifically stated where to put the named clothes and they are passed out to patrons from her closet instead. Excuse is we should write the name multiple times. Much insubordination with the patrons and their checkbooks gouged. I have to hire staff to work with their staff. Social worker refuses to set up consultations with director of nursing so ensure you get a number from the front desk. The director of nursing was able to take preventative actions and collaborate on accuracy of meds since there is no check in process. Director of nursing was so appreciative and thanking. Though it happened 7 days after the patient arrived. I count my lucky stars that the receptionist quickly transferred me to him.

It is not acceptable for a resident to be sitting with other residents in rotation eating NEAR the nurse station and choke to death. My brother lived here from late December 2022 until he died due to choking on a peanut butter sandwich (with no jelly) in March 2023. My brother liked the food at the facility and the outings. He had lost most of his teeth and any general look at him with no educational degree in any subject should be enough to know he should not have been fed peanut butter. The staff could not do the Heimlich because they said they could not get him up due to his size (220 lbs., 6'1") My brother died at the age of 72 because 1. He was fed something he shouldn't have been fed, 2. He wasn't being observed even though he was being fed in a rotation neat the nurse station, 3. The facility did not do Heimlich and did not have a LifeVac. HHS investigated and found no fault with the facility or in their response.
