Sodalis / Flower Mound was the first assisted living facility my husband and I toured when searching for a home for his stepmother. We were immediately impressed with the cozy, homey atmosphere, the cleanliness, and various staff we interacted with. Every other facility we toured did not come close to comparing with Sodalis, and we moved my mother-in-law in three weeks ago. I have had a lot of exposure to these types of facilities: my stepfather lived in several over the years. In my mind, the key piece of the puzzle in this kind of environment is the Executive Director. Ms Darla at Sodalis is just the sort of person and professional one wants when making such a major life decision. She is warm, responsive, fun, and most importantly, she is "hands-on." She's not sitting in an office doing paperwork. It is clear she cares about her residents as people. When you have good management at the top, the team beneath is stronger, happier, more efficient, and more effective. And such is the case at Sodalis. Yes, the rooms are nice. Yes, the food is tasty. Yes, the activities are varied and fun. And yes, the pricing is very reasonable. All of that is important. However, if the top management is lacking, all of those selling points, in my opinion, become moot. Ms Darla's heart and soul are invested daily, and it shows. We are happy that my mother-in-law is happy; it is such a relief. But most of all, we are thankful and grateful for Ms Darla, Tim, Tabitha, and the rest of the staff, for their dedication and attention---and we rest easy knowing our family member is in excellent hands while under their care.
