My husband is in long term skilled nursing care with Parkinsons. The staff in his unit are very pleasant and helpful. It helps that my husband is a pleasant person who is not a complainer which makes it easier for the staff to care for him. The nurse in that unit, Michelle, calls us when she has a concern such as about a refill needed on an eye ointment that he supplies on his own. Mandi, the nurse practitioner, is also attentive to his needs. We are grateful for the care. Regular visits from family and friends remind staff that this person is a treasured person. it is wise to treat staff with the respect they deserve at the same time holding them accountable to doing a good job and respectfully reporting problems to those in authority.
