Intergenerational Care
Delmar Gardens Infant Toddler Center is a child-centered program based on the five developmental areas: Social, Emotional, Language, Intellectual and Motor.
The interpersonal-environment approach is used to emphasize that learning is a part of play, and that play is on-going throughout the child’s day. It also takes into account the individual needs of each child and allows him or her to go through the carious stages of development at his or her own pace and level; thus permitting the child to grow naturally.
Caregivers guide and facilitate this growth, providing needed motivation, praise and redirection. Positive expressions, language and lively personal exchanges will provide stimulation for the child. The Caregivers will be sensitive to the world of the infant-toddler.
The center will create a happy, safe and healthy environment which will offer warm, informal contact between the Caregiver and the child. Opportunities to make free choices throughout the day will be provided with hands-on responsive materials. The child will be allowed and encouraged to exercise his or her natural and active curiosity. The basic needs such as feeding, diapering and cuddling will be met promptly and lovingly.
Delmar Gardens Infant-Toddler Center will provide special, personalized care for each child. The center is based on the child’s stages of development and allows the Caregivers to enter and enrich the world of the infant-toddler.

My sister spent her last chapter is the perfect place. When my sister had to be admitted to a nursing home we had no question that she needed to be in Delmar Gardens South. The staff became family and we appreciate all of the care and compassion given to her.

Thank you to everyone!

My Dad lived at DGS for not quite three years. Our experience has been a good one. We like how clean and well maintained the building is. Not smelly. The aids and nursing staff were usually very upbeat and pleasant. Everyone can have a bad day now and then and no place is perfect, but by and far everyone did their job and I never had to go far to find someone if I had a question or if Dad needed something. He liked the food and the activities they offer are awesome. Dad enjoyed the music events they have twice a week. Pathways hospice is superb! Dad was on hospice two different times before he passed and they all went the extra mile for him. They kept me informed at all times. My mom lives next door at Garden Villas and I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff and facilities there, as well. I am glad our elder care attorney recommended Delmar Gardens.

Had two grandmas spend their final chapter here and, by one of the strangest coincidences imaginable, they both passed away on the exact same day about three hours apart. If nothing else, they clearly believed in carpooling. Let’s be honest: it’s a nursing home. Nobody is expecting a five-star resort with room service and a rooftop infinity pool. The place checks pretty much every box on the “average nursing home” bingo card. There’s occasionally a lingering urine smell, the staff always seem stretched thin, and you can tell they’re working with limited resources. That said, most of the staff genuinely seemed to care, even if they looked like they deserved a raise, a vacation, and a winning lottery ticket. The facility isn’t glamorous, but it functions. Residents are cared for, families can visit, and life keeps moving. If you’re expecting luxury, you’ll be disappointed. If you’re expecting a fairly average nursing home experience with all the good, bad, and awkward realities that come with elder care, this place lands squarely in the middle. A solid 4 out of 5. Not heaven, not a horror movie. Just kind of… nursing-home flavored vanilla. 🤷♂️
