If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My grandpa was admitted here at Meramec Valley back in April just for just a few days. Upon visiting , the lobby looks fine but you go up the elevator and the smell of urine hits you. There were ants in his room and once reported someone came in and sprayed Raid WITH my grandpa and his roommate IN THE room and just left the dead ants and wet spray on the window sill. Old food plates laying all over the nurses station, residents wondering the halls, nurses carts everywhere you could hardly get by at times. The nurse that did my grandpas bandage change one evening, I about lost it she was so rough w him and had no compassion about it at all. The glasses in the dining room were laid out as “clean” but were filthy. The dining room stayed dirty even after meal time. My grandpa spent the first night pressing his button for hours because he needed to go to the bathroom and no one came ! His roommate happened to have the number for the desk and called and when they answered had to ask for help on behalf of my grandpa. These residents only get a shower twice a week that are on a set schedule. All of this was happening in the matter of the few days my grandpa was there. I can’t imagine what goes on if your loved one is there for a long period of time.
There are clearly issues that need to be addressed and not a single excuse to be made. Whoever runs this place should be looking out for the residents on a regular basis, not just collecting a paycheck and letting them live to the lowest standard. These are PEOPLE who are there because they need help in their last days or last years of life. The standard of care was so low. The smell in that place and the chaos still haunt me.
My grandpa died shortly after staying there and I absolutely hate that he spent even a few of his last days in this place and that is why I am writing this review to hopefully help open the eyes of whoever is in charge and to steer families away if they have another option.

My mother spent her last 14 months of Earthly life at Delmar Gardens of Meramec Valley. I cannot speak highly enough of Delmar Garden of Meramec Valley. The entire staff, extremely caring and professional. The organizational structure is superb. I know that there are a lot of "behind the scenes" people at every level that I never had the pleasure of meeting, but they clearly do their jobs very well because the entire organization runs flawlessly (from my surface level observations). I know that there are other Delmar Garden campuses; I hope that they're as wonderful as this one located in Fenton, MO. If you're considering a place for your loved one to receive the specialized care that our senior citizens need; look no further than Delmar Gardens of Meramec Valley. Perry Furgason

My friend was in this facility while she was in her stay they gave her her bed pen made her put herself on it then she had to take herself off the bed and put it on the back counter. I find this totally unacceptable. At the end of her stay, they tried to give her insulin and she is not diabetic. So please keep your loved ones far away.
