RUN!!! Do not put your loved one in Brookdale South Park!! While the management staff Brad and Tameka are clearly not qualified to be in their positions the bigger issue stems from corporate not providing the funds, training, leadership and follow up to inspect what they expect with their team! Be prepared for other residents entering personal rooms and even sleeping with your loved one because staff is not supervising them! Your loved one's clothes get washed with everyone's else's so that they now "share clothing". I have videos and pictures to prove it! They will even prescribe an antipsychotic medication to sedate without your knowledge! BTW there is a Class Action lawsuit against them for understaffing! I complained to them for the 5 months I had my loved one there and now the best thing I did was move!

We are leaving Brookdale after 1.5yrs due to cost increases, shabby living conditions, no beauty spa for over 6 months, cold food, food served on plastic plates with plastic utensils and an executive director (Brad) who lacks effective management skills. The last straw was finding a caregiver watching SpongeBob SquarePants on her iPad instead of helping residents with dinner. Even though she knew I was seated in the dining room with other residents, she continued watching her cartoon for another 20 minutes before deciding to do her job.<br>We now have our mom in The Meridian at Carolina Lakes and pay $2000 less per month for 5 star facilities which include a heated pool, a beauty spa that operates 4x/week, hot food, a room with a courtyard view (she looked at the parking lot at Brookdale) and regularly scheduled outings.<br>As long as Brad is managing this facility, it will probably not get better. He struggles to respond to inquiries and the staff seem to have no respect for him. The receptionist is also extremely rude. I do not recommend this facility.

I recently toured the community with Whitney Varnadore and was very impressed with the entire experience. Staff introduced themselves, it smelled nice, and the residents were well taken care of and enjoying an activity. Whitney is a trusted resource for all things seniors and gives her all to helping families through the transition. If you are looking for a memory care of a loved one, you won’t regret reaching out.

This is a very nice facility. The staff is excellent. Tameka and her assistant do a wonderful job! Tanya, Nikki, and sister as well. Rianna is wonderful and Cyntina Jackson as well.

UPDATE: 2024<br>After moving my mother out of Brookdale, the difference is night & day. Her new home is SUCH AN IMPROVEMENT over Brookdale! And it costs less too!<br>I have visited many Memory Care units by this time & while Brookdale looked good to us early on, we see now how much better things can be. Keep looking.<br><br>2023: 3 months into my mothers residency at Brookdale South Park, I’m dissatisfied with the level of service & communication we’ve received. After speaking with the new ED as well as many other staff members about our concerns, I hope that improvements will be made.
