Update - I have been asked to remove my review. I am going to go with Freedom of Speech, sometimes the truth hurts.

I have been inquiring about the mattress my mother sleeps on, no answers. There was a meeting yesterday/sort of a dog and pony show. The trustee of our family asked if we need to bring our own mattress and what size, should she decide to place our mother in this place. Now I know the urine stained bed my mother sleeps in belongs to Whitney Place.

Seems like this is just WRONG, unsanitary, why does Whitney Place reuse urine stained mattresses? Is it legal?

The two representatives yesterday that we spoke with let us know that they would place their parents in a home for all of these reasons. It’s nice to know they are okay with their parents sleeping on a urine stained mattress but I’m not okay with it. I was told to stop sending obnoxious texts to the trustee, I included pictures and video. The trustee and her backup were told one thing, I am there everyday and see another picture with my own eyes. I was dismissed and told nothing to see, nothing new to talk about. Thank you Whitney Place for telling two different stories.

The first meeting I had with Whitney Place, last week, I was upset. No one was doing anything. I notified the nurse in charge the moment I saw it, the two that initially met with, the female witnessed A lot and alluded to just noticing or becoming aware of the issue with my mom, I said I told the nurse last Friday. They were going to look into that. There may be snacks in my mom’s room that you witness but do you witness my mom eating them? The few snacks that we leave, are they open? Did you witness her eating the chips or popcorn in little containers on the table? She never ate anything from those containers, I threw the snacks out. These two evaded answering questions, the Executive Director said to me don’t be sarcastic when I asked him a question, believe me I wasn’t being sarcastic, when your mother is crying and screaming in pain but everyone has rainbows and unicorns coming out of every inch of their bodies, everything is perfect here, I have a right to ask questions and look for answers. He also sort of dismissed me as I am not the healthcare proxy and not on the list. No one in charge in my mothers care took any action as they were told all is well with Whitney place.

May be this is just a crack in their glass house?

Is it okay for your mom to sleep in a urine stained mattress that isn’t hers? I’ve spoken up but I am not the healthcare proxy, I am not on a list, my concerns were dismissed by all, Whitney Place and Family.

If I’m asked to take my review down again, then I will have more things to review…medication protocols…

I am not retracting my review.

God Bless my Mom and The United States of America.

My mom is at Whitney Place for just over a week now. Her care is subpar. He rear end is red, red, blood red, soars. We can only assume she sits in her fecal and urine matter most of the day. The aides at Whitney Place are nice but lack training and bedside manners. Different shifts provided different information and there is a huge lack of communication and different stories being told to different family members causing too much strife. I would not recommend Whitney.
