A year ago, my son was removed from a facility for neglect. He was not receiving his medications properly, and as his mother, that kind of reality shakes you to your core. Then Waters Edge stepped in, and I can say with complete confidence, they were a God send. My son was not easy in the beginning. He was angry, confused, verbally and physically aggressive, and acting out in ways that made us wonder if this transition would even work. There were moments filled with uncertainty and fear, and I questioned everything except one thing… God had not abandoned him. The staff at Waters Edge did not give up. They met him where he was. They showed patience, consistency, and compassion. They worked tirelessly to get him the right care, the right medications, and the support he desperately needed. Slowly, day by day, healing began to take root. Today, he is calmer, safer, and genuinely cared for. He is seen. He is valued. He is loved. I am beyond grateful. Grateful to God for leading us here, grateful for a place that chose compassion over convenience, and grateful for people who treated my son with dignity when he needed it most. Sometimes answered prayers look like perseverance. And sometimes, they look like Waters Edge.
