This place should not be considered transitional care. The one star rating is high. My loved one came there after acute care to recover and get home. When she left the hospital, she was transferring and getting stronger. She went backwards. They would only use the hoyer instead of helping her walk, had her using a bedpan instead of helping her to the bathroom, left her sitting and waiting to go to the bathroom for hours sometimes, and then left her waiting to be cleaned up for an hour sitting on a bedpan. It was humiliating for her. This was routine. When I was there, there were four staff by the nurse's station chatting and laughing. They turned the call button off twice. The PT and OT are inconsistent and the staff tried to move her in the hover and wrapped the cord around her neck. She screamed for them to stop. There are so many other examples - they ignored her, the food is disgusting, pain medications were always late. Several times I went out and the call button was blaring and they were sitting reading their phones with their feet up. They have delayed cancer treatment for her because they usually just leave her sitting in bed and she's less strong than when she left the hospital. Messages left were never returned, the nursing manager's voice mail was always full. What a joke. This is completely unethical treatment for everyone there. We found a different place for her.
