I am extremely disappointed and honestly heartbroken by the care my 83 year old grandpa received at this transitional care facility. He had a knee replacement on Tuesday, 5/5, and was transferred here on Friday, 5/8, for recovery and rehab. During his stay, he was barely cared for. He was not being brought ice, was not given pain medication, including basic medications like Tylenol and ibuprofen, unless he specifically asked for it, and was not being properly helped with elevating his leg after surgery. These are basic post-op care needs, especially for an elderly patient recovering from a knee replacement. The most alarming part is that he developed sepsis while in their care. When staff finally realized he was showing symptoms and sent him back to the hospital, they dropped my 83 year old grandpa off at the ER by himself and did not notify his family. The ER he was brought to is known to be extremely crowded and, honestly, can feel scary and overwhelming at times. Leaving an elderly patient there alone, especially one showing signs of a serious infection, is beyond unacceptable. Our family trusted this facility to help him recover safely, and instead we feel like he was neglected during a very vulnerable time. I would not feel comfortable recommending this facility to anyone’s loved one. Patients deserve dignity, communication, proper pain management, and attentive care. My grandpa did not receive that here.
