Our entire experience at The Bristal of Massapequa has been OUTSTANDING! After spending almost a year at a facility that was substandard and failing to show proper care and attention, we moved our 93 year old debilitated mother into The Bristal. She has been there around 6 weeks now. The difference is absolute night and day. We can't say enough about it.<br><br>To begin, the facility is absolutely beautiful. It is like a luxury hotel, so clean, where everything is spic and span. I even saw a team member dusting individual leaves of the plant in the front lobby. (That was very impressive to me!!)<br>The "apartment" is lovely, equipt with furniture, spacious bathroom, and walk in closets, as well as a common area with a sink, cabinets, a microwave, and mini refrigerator.<br><br>There is a wellness office on site, and medical staff available always. Additionally, There are all kinds of separate rooms for various activities (Beautiful common rooms to hang out in, activity rooms, game rooms, art and crafts, bistro, the list goes on and on). They even have their own movie theater!! There are numerous groups and clubs designed to meet individual interests. There are also day trips to interesting activities in the community. They decorate and have themes for every holiday and occasion.<br>The large dining hall is truly an exclusive restaurant with unbelievably delicious food. We know that because they just hosted a BEAUTIFUL Mother's Day Brunch with and array of yummy food, soup to nuts!)<br>This now brings me to the STAFF. Probably the most impressive of all. Each and every time, we are greeted with genuine warmth and professionalism from EVERY SINGLE team member.<br>Being new and still trying to acclimate to the transition, we ask<br>A LOT of questions and make many requests. We are ALWAYS met with kindness and patience.<br>The individual care and attention that residents and their families receive is exceptional.<br>I need to do a shout out several staff, starting with Reception, DOUGLAS, PAULINE, MAURA, LYNN, & VANESSA,(always with a smile and willingness to help in anyway ) And thank you, KELLY, (the lovely lady who we were lucky enough to run in to to find out about this gem), to CODY (our amazing case manager who we keep very busy!), to JENNIFER (the Executive Director who is always available to assist with whatever inquiries we have), to the helpful Health Office staff, HEATHER, CHILLITTA, and TODD (others we haven’t met) to the enthusiastic recreation staff, SHANNON and CAROL, to BOBBY (maintenance who goes above and beyond for us), and to all the hardworking AIDES and RESTAURANT SERVERS and STAFF, too many to name.<br><br>It is such a relief to see our mother living a lifestyle of dignity with healthy interactions. We can now sleep at night know our loved one is safe and secure.<br>A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE at Massapequa Bristal!!
