Staff was extremely welcoming and answered all of my questions. Also noticed when taking the tour that the staff knew all of the residents names which I found amazing.

I recommend Independence Village of Plymouth to anyone looking for independent living in the area. IVP was the right place for the 18 months my mother lived there due to all of these: the activities, the kind and supportive staff, and the management and leadership team. Our family enjoyed hearing about the lunch trips she took for many months, the special events organized by the staff, her regular activities like bingo, and also the everyday dinner conversations with friends -- things she was missing out on when she lived alone before moving to IVP.<br><br>When my mother needed assistance with anything, the staff responded with kindness and respect. When something in the apartment needed attention, like a request for a new grab bar, staff responded promptly.<br><br>I was always struck by how, every time I walked down a hallway at IVP, staff members knew every resident by name. That kind of attentiveness and personal connection meant a great deal to my mother and to our family.

I know someone who is a current resident here. This is a good environment if one is mostly able to take care of themself. When it comes to more in-depth care, a reviewer named Lori Porter below said this and I agree with the following excerpt: "If your loved one needs a significant amount of care, go somewhere else. Corsocare (the in house care team) is disorganized and expensive, with inconsistent care".<br><br>I've certainly witnessed the Corsocare team and cusine team to be extremely disconnected from one another and unorganized overall. It's extremely concerning because they need to work together to ensure meal items are correct and, even more critically, that meals are actually delivered to those who cannot go to the dining room. For example, I visited recently. My loved one did not receive certain items they had indicated on their meal tickets. Which, ok, what's a missing soup here and there? However, on another day they forgot the breakfast and lunch completely!<br><br>Additionally, the staff are kind, but when doing wellness checks most are too quiet and seem to be in a rush. I witnessed multiple staff sort of just knock quietly, poke their head in the door, and turn to leave assuming everything was good before fully and thoroughly engaging with someone hard of hearing.<br><br>Can not attest to the rest of Lori Porters review, but I sure hope not something my loved one has to experience.
