I chose those place for my parents because of the genuine quality of care available. The care team has given me peace to know my parents are safe and looked after with kindness. It isn’t an easy transition to senior living, but I do feel the resources and support are there to make it the best it can be.

Everything that glitters is not gold. Moving your loved one into StoryPoint is not just a decision—it’s a full-time job. You’ll be micromanaging daily: checking in with staff constantly, making physical visits, and even doing your own laundry unless you want clothes ruined. The food is far from high-quality—processed cheese, white bread, bottom-feeder fish. For the price, you’d expect more. If you aren’t ready to advocate relentlessly, this isn’t for you. That said, while we’ve had weekly issues, the team does come together to resolve them. It takes micromanaging, patience, and letting them correct the problems—but they do try. 👋🏼Please be advised that the facility, formerly known as Provisions is Now STORY POINT and operating under a different management structure, has been rebranded as Story Point. This transition includes a completely new staff, revised pricing, and updated policies.

I am not one to leave bad reviews for places but I’m making an exception. My dad became a resident over a year ago when this was Provision Living. It was a very good fit for him and the staff all loved him. After Storypoint came in things started to change. It seems now that it’s all about making money and not about individualized care. My dad’s condition has not changed at all and suddenly under the new ownership he needs to be moved to memory care at a whopping price increase of $3000 a month above the $5150 he was already paying. The management volunteered the information that they “were moving lots of the residents to memory care so my dad wouldn’t be alone.” Clearly this is a money grab. Their reasoning was that my dad is exit seeking. He is no more exit seeking than he has been for a year and the staff has always worked with him. He is extremely easy and re-directable. All of his direct care givers are shocked that the management wants him moved. They all say they can’t believe it because my dad is so easy. With so many other options in the area Storypoint would do well to remember that they are here to serve the residents not just the stockholders.

Highly recommend Provisions of West Bloomfield. I originally selected them for my sister and brother-in-law because of a recommendation from a friend whose husband is there, and there were a lot of people in the lobby coming and going (families, staff, deliveries, different therapists, etc). The place felt "alive." It might seem like a strange way to make this major decision, but I didn't want my family members to be living in a staid, isolated environment. It turned out to exceed our expectations -- very caring staff members, involvement of the administration, beautiful surroundings, wonderful activities and an engaging staff encouraging residents to participate. The staff worked as a great TEAM together. I'd highly recommend this to anyone considering assisted living or memory care for their family.
