About Hoosier Village Retirement Community

Welcome to Hoosier Village

Where you’ll experience a fulfilling lifestyle.

Hoosier Village is a stunning 300-acre neighborhood near the quaint town of Zionsville, just moments away from the heart of Indianapolis. In addition to an exhilarating, maintenance-free lifestyle, we provide greater personal security and peace of mind with a fully accredited continuum of health care available. Hoosier Village, quite simply, offers a beautiful lifestyle in a beautiful place.

We are a non-profit life plan community founded in 1952. A life plan community offers quality senior housing, freedom from the responsibilities of home maintenance, and the security of an on-site continuum of care.

Life plan communities provide individuals age 62 and over with:

•    The privacy of an apartment or duplex home and the companionship of community life;
•    A wide range of helpful services such as housekeeping, transportation, and home maintenance;
•    A variety of amenities such as a fitness center, library, inter-denominational chapel, and dining venues;
•    A full calendar of engaging activities, including social, recreational, spiritual and educational opportunities; and
•    A continuum of on-site health care that includes assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation services.

Independent Living

Imagine enjoying the comfort and privacy of your own Deercrest apartment, or a beautiful home in one of our neighborhoods, such as The Oaks at Hoosier Village, without the concerns of yard work, snow removal or home maintenance. The people who live here can, at a moment’s notice, pack their bags, lock their doors, and take off on a trip – never needing to worry about the security risks of leaving an empty house behind.

Independent Assisted Living

Providing the Very Best in Daily Support

All of our supportive care services—those included in both our Assisted Living and Memory Support programs—are specifically designed to maximize the independence of those we serve, while offering help with everyday activities.

Each of our trusted, well-trained staff members approaches every resident with warmth and the utmost respect for the unique needs of the individual. Our Assisted Living neighborhood, located in The Hawthorn, and our Memory Support neighborhood in Hickory Hall offer their own set of amenities and comforts to residents along with nearby dining rooms. And, there are members of our caring staff available round-the-clock in both.

Hickory Hall Memory Care

As part of our full continuum of health care services, Hoosier Village offers a specialized Memory Support program for residents who have Alzheimer’s disease, cognitive decline (dementia), or other forms of memory loss.

Our goal in providing Memory Support is enhancing the quality of life for individuals with memory loss, as well as their caregivers.  Families are welcome to visit 24/7 and are always invited to join their family members for meals.

Our nurturing staff members have at least 30 hours of specialized training in caring for individuals with memory loss, including a dementia simulation process to help better understand the progression of the disease.

My parents have lived at Hoosier Village for years. My dad moved to the healthcare center last year. It amazes me of how well they take care of both his personal and health needs. Ve

We are just thrilled for the time we get to move into your community. We were so impressed with the homes, the golf course like landscaping, the delicious meals in the restaurant and fun bar! On top of that the feedback from so many of the residence was overwhelmingly positive. Our sales person, LaNita, has been so helpful, forthright, and such a pleasure to work with. Can’t wait to move in! It will be worth the years wait.

Hoosier Village is a wonderful community of fun and friendly folk - someone is always ready for a game of golf or a pickleball tournament. Although, sometimes, a cup of coffee and a book discussion is all I am looking for, and that too is just a phone call away.

We are very happy with the organization and the surroundings and our residence. However, We are very disappointed with all of the things we were told we could do or have that we found out later we could not do or we could not have. As an example We understood That we could put our Family light fixture in the entryway As opposed to the fixtures being offered on a chart and that it would be done By Hoosier Village. Now we are told that the fixture is ours and not yours and therefore we have to put it up or find someone else to do it. I’m not sure why hanging our lamp is so much more difficult than hanging your own, but this is the kind of nonsense we have been struggling with. Are we disappointed in the response not always but on the other hand much too often.

It has been our experience as retired residents living in Zionsville who are waiting to move into Hoosier Village that the staff are great to work with.
