About Crown Senior Living
Crown Senior Living is an assisted living and memory care community conveniently located on Shadeland Avenue off of Interstate 69 in Indianapolis. Experience our exceptional care services and amenities at an affordable price.
Crown Senior Living uses a personalized program of care, which includes moving away from task-oriented care and moving toward person-centered care. We believe in getting to know each individual we serve by learning his or her life story. This knowledge of each resident’s life and who they are helps us to individualize our care to fit each person.
Crown Senior Living is an affordable senior living option. All of our apartments have large, sunny windows and are private with private bathrooms. We accept private pay, veterans’ Aid and Attendance, Medicaid Waiver, and long-term care insurance.
Life Enrichment Programming
The Crown Senior Living Life Enrichment program boasts many activities and local outings that give our residents a purpose every day. We incorporate daily spiritual, social, physical, and intellectual activities. Our activities director spends time getting to know residents. She meets with new residents to find out what their interests are and what they enjoy doing most. Monthly events may vary based on residents’ interests and participation.
In addition to regularly scheduled activities such as church services and Bible study, as well as trips to Walmart and downtown events, we offer educational talks and presentations. Presentations include discussions on health and nutrition, veteran’s Aid and Attendance, and more.
Programming at Crown Senior Living keeps us vibrant and in touch with our surrounding community. You’ll find our spirited program inspires each resident to lead a fulfilling and active life.
Dining Program
Join us for three meals a day, plus snacks! The dining experience is a great way to meet with friends and enjoy our friendly staff. Each meal is home cooked and served in our dining room. We have a restaurant-style service with a daily “Chef’s Choice” option for meals, or residents may order off the alternative menu. Meals change every day, and we are very accommodating to individual tastes, preferences, and food allergies.
Care and Services
Assisted Living
At Crown Senior Living, our focus is supporting our residents’ independence and overall wellness.
The care that each resident receives at Crown Senior Living is unique to his or her needs. Each resident’s activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, bathing, and hygiene, are assessed upon move-in and regularly throughout their stay. We work with the resident, family members, and health practitioners to create the right plan of care for each person.
Care-related services include, but are not limited to:
• Care staff, including a licensed nurse, at facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• Personal care assistance with activities of daily living
• Medication assistance and administration
• Mobility assistance
• Continence maintenance
• Visits from outside physician
• On-site visits from the dentist, podiatrist, home health, and more
Memory Care Neighborhood
Along the Journey is Priority Life Care’s memory care programming. The Along the Journey program was created for our seniors with memory impairments and as a way for families and caregivers to develop strong relationships. A successful transition involves supporting the resident in their new environment and being a resource for the family.
Goals of Along the Journey:
• Create a safe and comfortable environment for residents
• Provide consistent, well-trained caregivers specific to dementia care
• Provide care based on each residents abilities and needs, with respect to the individuals culture and preferences
• Achieve the highest quality of life possible for each resident through cueing and assistance
• Be a resource and provide support to families, staff, and other residents
At Crown Senior Living, we use activities to help reduce residents’ agitation, improve their moods, and encourage social interaction. Popular activities include morning coffee (hydration) and news, listening to music, spiritual programs, ice cream socials, reminiscing, trivia, and puzzles. One-on-one sensory activities may also be used to help residents relax and have a good night’s rest.
Short-Term Respite Care
Residents in short-term respite care receive all of the amenities and care in our assisted living or memory care options, but for a shorter, predetermined length of stay. Respite care is for loved ones who may need a little help after a hospital or rehab stay, or when caregivers plan a family vacation or just need some time to relax and recharge. We are here for you. Amenities
Our typical private room is spacious, painted in neutral colors, with a small kitchenette and refrigerator. We offer both carpet and vinyl flooring, as available. Every room has a private bathroom and large windows with views of the great outdoors.
