Posting this review for my dad: My wife was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia at age 71 on top of existing Type 2 diabetes and loss of sight from macular degeneration. One of the characteristics of Lewy Body is believing things that are not present are real and harmful. Several Neurologists tried medications to calm her and help with sleeping at home. They all said a full time facility with 24/7 attention is best and safest for her. They stressed waiting longer would make it harder for her. I was sure she would revolt and beg us to take her home if we moved her from home. That never happened at Cranberry Park.<br>Our son & daughter toured some facilities with me. Only Cranberry Park seemed like a friendly family oriented place where all the staff seemed genuinely concerned. Cranberry seemed like the "right size" facility. Full care, but a personal approach from each caregiver.<br>I truly believe the compassion from the staff at all levels transferred to her. Many made it seem as if it was our daughter from California tucking her in at night and caring for her.<br>I can only sum up by saying Cranberry Park of Milford was the best decision we made for her dementia care.<br>Best regards, Karen's husband and children.

I can’t say enough positive things about Cranberry park. Our story is a bit different, my mother in law was in a great place for over 10 years. Then her mental health needs became more demanding and we needed to make a change, to complicate things further she ended up in the hospital after a fall. She broke her hip and had surgery. So we now we had a 92 year old woman with dementia that needs so much care we didn’t know what to do. When we meet the management team at cranberry our prayers were answered. They guided us through a maze of problems. Deb( nursing director), Kelsey( executive director) and Gloria ( administrator) helped us from picking out the best room to guiding us to the best hospice care any person could ask for. Every person from Kelsey to the housekeeping staff were kind, loving and gentle to my MIL. They all truly care about everyone there. Sadly my mother in law has passed but she had the best possible care to the very end. Our family can’t thank the cranberry and hospice staff enough.

For the past two years my mother has been in an assisted living facility that just didn't match her personality. The food was bland, sometimes even awful, and the facility just felt old. My mom refused to associate with the other residents and spent almost all of her time in her room by herself. Without exception she ate all of her meals in her room by herself.<br><br>She complained of loneliness most of the time (which broke our hearts) but our trying to encourage her to get out of her room and associate with the other residents wasn't working. My sisters and I decided it was time to move her to a new facility.<br><br>After a lot of research we narrowed the list down to a few new facilities and I personally visited each one of these facilities, first on my own and then with my mother. I was most impressed with Cranberry Park for a variety of reasons including staff that really cared for their patients (obvious within one hour of my visit), really good food menus, a modern and very clean facility, and a location that was peaceful and surrounded by trees.<br><br>My 95 year old mother was naturally a bit afraid of moving out of her previous residence even though she did not like it. After some encouragement she decided to trust me and my sisters and made the move to Cranberry Park. The change in our mother has been amazing.<br><br>In the month she has been there she has only eaten in her room twice. Now she joins the residents for every meal in the cafeteria and she actively engages in discussions with them. She sleeps better throughout the night. She has windows that bring in light during the day which helps her attitude. She is well taken care of by the staff and they encourage her to get involved with the other residents. The maintenance person is very responsive if my mom feels she needs help with something in the room, or if she wants to hang a picture.<br><br>Bottom line? Cranberry Park is absolutely a godsend for my mother. My sisters and I consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have found such a wonderful place. We only wish we knew of Cranberry Park two years ago when we first placed our mother in assisted living.

To call this place a nursing home, or assisted living is inappropriate. It’s far better and far nicer! Cranberry Park is my grandmas NEW home. It’s beautiful and the staff are beyond friendly! I live in Chicago and apartment living is a way of life. This beats any apartment I ever lived it! It’s so spacious and NEW! Everything is SO THOUGHT OUT! She has her own bran new studio apartment with room to move around in. An aquarium in the large living room. Happy hours! Pets to bring the residents joy. Anything you could ask for they have and then some.<br><br>Cafeteria? No mam! More like a banquet hall with windows and vaulted sealing and “million dollar chicken”. The food is FAR better than anything she could have made on her own. Better than anything I could make on my own! It’s a smaller community of people, so it’s easier to get to know people and make friends. Each month there’s a calendar of different events and meals that will be served. My grandma loves the desert!<br><br>My gram never wanted to leave her home, and move into an assisted living. She made me promise I would never do that to her. This was an EASY transition, and the staff are a huge reason for that. Our elderly are often not looked after, or treated respectfully. Not here! They know her name and get to know about her! They talk and care for her and I am so beyond grateful! I can only get back once a month to see her, but I know she’s being taken good care of while I’m not there.<br><br>I’m planning to come home to see her again soon, and we are going to have burgers and beer (grams request) outside in their beautiful outdoor atrium fully equip with Weber grill! It’s spacious and flowers everywhere which she loves!<br><br>It doesn’t feel right to close this review without mentioning the staff, yet again. There isn’t a high turnover, so it’s easy to get to know them. April is an asset to this establishment. She works and I think lives at the front desk. Her mom works in the kitchen. It’s a true family establishment! When signing the lease agreement, we were allowed to take our time, ask questions, and have them answered. NO “fine print”. Everything was very transparent. I’m so grateful for the gal who helps her shower. My gram tells me she’s so gentle and feels so good afterwords. The gal in the salon, YES salon, cuts her hair so she feels good about herself when she goes to eat. 5 stars is not a high enough rating for this place! THANK YOU Cranberry Park!
