This place was an absolute nightmare for our family. My mother-in-law stayed here, and the level of care she received was beyond disappointing—it was unacceptable. Communication was terrible; we were constantly left in the dark about her condition and care plan. What was most concerning is that they kept her in bed for far too long, especially considering her age and need to stay mobile. Instead of encouraging movement and rehabilitation, it felt like she was neglected and left to decline. That is the complete opposite of what a rehab facility is supposed to do. Staff often seemed inattentive and overwhelmed, and basic needs were not met in a timely manner. There was a clear lack of compassion and professionalism throughout her stay. You trust a rehab center to help your loved one recover, but instead we felt like we had to constantly advocate and worry about her well-being. No family should have to feel that way. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. If you truly care about your loved one, look elsewhere.

I can very highly recommend this facility. My father is currently a patient and the level of care and concern is outstanding. He likes it as well. I am so happy he has such caring and compassionate people helping him! I mainly deal with Stephen, and I can say he very professional and attentive. In short, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Brookside to any family or friends.

Do not send your family here. This is just like being in jail and actually people in jail have more privileges than this place. You do nothing. You sit in your room all day, doing nothing it's a very depressing place

I would not board my dog here for a weekend never mind a family member. During the process of touring different facilities for my mother’s hospice care, this one was by far the worst. Such a dark depressing atmosphere, the outside even looked awful and looked like no one was ever even taken outside of the building, inside smelt bad, water marks on the ceiling. While waiting for the admin to come get me for the tour I heard staff swearing to each other, SO unprofessional and trashy. The bed they had available was a cot in a room with 3 other people, no TV. I looked over to see dentures floating in water next to where the bed they had available for my mother would be, just so depressing. Take the time to tour different locations and don’t settle on a place just because location may be convenient!! I feel so sorry for all the people who got placed in this facility. I am so happy I didn’t send my mother here. Found a beautiful facility in Holden MA.

My ex-husband stayed there following a stroke, and I can literally count on one hand the nice nurses there that attended to him. I can probably name the staff personally who went above and beyond in his care and for that I will be eternally grateful to them. Other than that, I have nothing positive to say about Brookside. One of the PT there was next to impossible to understand her and as such my ex husband wasn't able to get the PT he needed when he needed it. He basically went there being able to walk with a quad cane or hemi walker to being wheelchair bound by the time he left. I didn't expect them to perform a miracle, but I did at the very least expect to hold decent and understandable conversations with those in charge of his care. Once again, I will shout out to his nursing care team, and for those who are still there....you all rock!!
