The staff was friendly and seemed like they genuinely cared. My dad said the food was pretty good. The only downside was that there was a courtyard area however there was only certain times he was allowed to go outside.

I don’t leave reviews, but I had to after what I experienced with my friend. I am power of attorney for one of my Friends and the communication I requested versus what I received was terrible. My friend was wanting to sign himself out AMA, I discussed with the nurse desk what would be needed in order to allow him to do that, and was given completely inaccurate information. He ended up having to stay three additional days because he did not have somebody that could take him home. (I was not told and had left town). I understand this is protocol, and misinformation to someone’s power of attorney and loved one is unacceptable. My friend asked for his beard to be shaved, and instead they shaved his entire face, head, AND his eyebrows? When he confronted them about it, they laughed at him. Who does this to an elderly person? The food looks like it could’ve came from a prison. Granted,I can’t knock them completely for that. It’s not the staff’s choice of what food gets served. I wouldn’t touch that food with a 10 foot pole. There were some good people in there, but majority of the staff I feel is ill equipped or will give you attitude with requests made. I would NOT recommend this facility to anyone or their loved one. I hate to think this is what our medical model has come to.

Friendly staff, Great food, and communications! My brother was there for a short time and wanted to live full time. They didn’t have any long term rooms available but I’m glad he had a good experience!

We have had my Dad cared for at Beach Street and were treated with the Best staff that we could have ever wanted to assist in his care. Everyone was so polite and helpful in fulfilling his needs. Everyone is topnotch at Beach Street.

While I cannot speak to the clinical care or the physical state of the facility, I am writing this to highlight significant concerns regarding the professionalism of the administrative leadership and the failure of the social work/discharge planning department. My family member was admitted here for rehabilitation with the understanding that his home environment was unsafe and unlivable. We were actively collaborating with the facility social worker to arrange long-term care. However, halfway through our planning, communication from the facility fell off. Despite our multiple attempts to reach staff, my family member was discharged back to his unsafe home two days before we had been told he would leave, so we were not able to help him upon discharge. Predictably, he fell within hours and was readmitted to the emergency department. Most concerning, however, was our follow-up call with the Social Worker (Denise), Nursing Director (Tania), and Administrator (Stephanie). Rather than a professional inquiry into a lapse in patient safety, the call was characterized by: Defensiveness over Dialogue: The leadership team was immediately hostile, interrupting frequently and refusing to acknowledge the breakdown in communication. Part of my reason for the review call was simply to figure out what happened rather than place the full blame on the facility, since my family member certainly had some communication faults himself, but I was not given a chance to do this before they opened the call with their defensive arguments. Lack of Accountability: The team focused entirely on "CYA" (Cover Your Assets) rhetoric, insisting they met the bare minimum legal requirements while ignoring the ethical obligation to ensure a safe transition of care. Poor Record-Keeping: We later discovered that our communicated concerns regarding the home environment were omitted from the social worker's official notes. As a family member, I expected a collaborative partnership to ensure a vulnerable senior's safety. Instead, I encountered a leadership team that lacks empathy and treats valid family concerns as an adversarial argument. If you are looking for a facility that prioritizes communication and safe discharge planning, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
