Very disappointed in this place, my Mother is a resident here, and the staff here, can't even whipe off the walls wear they changed my mom, and there is fecal matter on the wall above the trash can, they can't take the time to make sure her room is cleaned and sanitized.

Please consider reading the ohio department of health complaints before sending a loved one here. My mom was at Altercare for therapy after recovering from a fall. This place is hands down the worst facility she has ever been to. There were 2 good staff members who took excellent care of her, the others were very cruel. One evening my mom was very ill and they refused to call the squad, told her she'd have to call herself, which she did. Call buttons pressed and hours of waiting for someone to come in. Several times they didnt bring her a food tray, I'd have to call in and make sure they brought her one. Medical care was not given appropriately, and she almost lost a toe once seen by a local doctor. I have a 2 page list of issues I personally turned into the ODOH, they did an investigation and they were cited for violations. The administrator will tell you she is handling issues when called but noting ever changed. Don't let this place fool you, read all the public information department of health reports.

My mother got a lung transplant back in Sept. 2024 and she’s had some setbacks keeping her in the hospital. We picked a nursing home in Columbus first for physical therapy and it wasn’t the best experience and we wanted something closer to home for my mom for physical therapy and we came across altercare in thornville, oh. It was hands down the best decision we have made! Missy, Tina, Kristie, ALL the staff is simply wonderful to my mom. We are starting to love them like family because that’s how they have treated our mom. Thank you so much altercare for going and continuing to go above and beyond for our mother. We appreciate and cherish you all more than you’ll ever understand. ❤️

This is my husband's second admission to Altercare Thornville.I have always been very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility.Upon his second admission I encountered many of the staff that I knew from his previous stay,this says alot for the facility, as I know that there is a lot of turnover in this type of care!
