It would be zero stars but I don’t have that option. This place is horrible. The so called wound specialist, who is also director of nursing, had no idea of what to do with my dad’s wound vac. I had to tell them it wasn’t working and he was bleeding through the bandage. When she did come to his room she pretty much ripped the dressings off. He’s 92, on blood thinners and has thin skin. She definitely hurt him when she did it. Gave him a pain med that he was allergic to and didn’t notify me for three days. He got out of bed during night and was yelled at twice by an aide. They have no right to yell at them like that. I don’t do it as a caregiver therefore they shouldn’t either. Director of nursing left him standing alone in his room trying to use the restroom when he wasn’t supposed to be left alone. He was a very high fall risk and they knew this. He fell several times while there. When he went in for rehab they said he would be taken to dining hall and common room each day. That never happened. Every day he was there he got worse. He seemed like he was being doped up so they wouldn’t have to worry about him. If you put family here, please visit them as often as you can and be their advocate for better care. My heart goes out to the people who are still there. Chenel, a nurse, was super nice and caring as were a couple others. DON should go through more training if she’s going to call herself a “wound specialist “.
