Our experience with The Sheridan at Park Ridge has been extremely disappointing. The most concerning issue is the apparent lack of leadership, professionalism, and competent staffing. There does not seem to be adequate accountability when serious problems arise, and concerns are not being handled with the urgency, transparency, or professionalism that residents and their families deserve.

There has also been a concerning lack of transparency from staff regarding health-related concerns, including issues that may affect the broader resident community. Families should be kept appropriately informed when there are significant health or safety concerns that could potentially affect residents. Instead, communication has often felt inadequate, inconsistent, or lacking important information. Residents and families deserve timely, clear communication so they can make informed decisions and take appropriate precautions when necessary.

We have also been concerned by the conduct and professionalism of some members of leadership. Leadership staff have been overheard speaking disparagingly about former employees. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding an employee's departure, hearing leadership speak negatively about former staff raises concerns about professionalism, workplace culture, and how disagreements and personnel matters are handled.

The quality of the food has also been a significant disappointment. Meals have frequently been poor in quality, and the food does not meet the standard we would expect for an assisted living community where residents depend on the facility for their daily meals.

Overall, our experience has raised serious concerns about management, accountability, communication, transparency, staff professionalism, and quality of care. Families considering this community should ask detailed questions about how complaints are handled, how individual and community-wide health concerns are communicated, how leadership addresses staffing concerns, and whether the community consistently follows its own policies and standards.
