What Families Think

Reviews for Sherbrooke Village are sharply split: many families praise the physical therapy team, cleanliness, and warmth of specific staff members, while a large number of others describe serious lapses in nursing care, unanswered call lights, and poor communication that led to falls, infections, and hospitalizations. The gap between the high Google rating and very low Yelp rating reflects this inconsistency in the day-to-day experience.

The Good

 • Facility consistently described as clean and well-maintained
 • Many staff members called friendly, caring, and attentive
 • Tour guide Erin and resident dog Daisy create a welcoming feel
 • Compassionate end-of-life care noted by several families
 • Private rooms and multiple floor plans available

The Bad

 • Multiple reports of call lights going unanswered for 45+ minutes
 • Several accounts of understaffed nursing and dietary teams
 • Multiple serious incidents: falls, undiagnosed infections, delayed hospital transfers
 • One report of antipsychotic medication given without consent
 • Several reviewers cite poor communication between departments and with families
 • One reviewer noted care quality declined after a change in ownership

My family member has been there for several years. Since MGM took over the quality has gone down.
Although the staff is very nice the dietary crew is very understaffed and sometimes meals take 3 hours to be served and cleared. The portions are very small and it is common to be told "We're out of that".

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!! I believe they are the reason my gpa is now on hospice. 0/5 stars would’ve been an appropriate option.
They use a temp service to hire staff. They do not care about the residents or building relationships with them. They give them black label anti psychotic drugs to make their jobs easier. WITHOUT CONSENT! These medications can lead to stroke! This happened to my gpa and now he can’t move half of his body. They also didn’t recognize he was having a stroke until it was too late.

This is his wife, Jennifer Regan. The physical therapy staff, especially Steve was outstanding. They had my level 1 trauma husband with multiple bone fractures standing within 1 week standing and walking independently within 2 1/2 weeks. Couldn’t have been better. However, as a 40 year experienced nurse, except for Christy, I found the nursing staff (especially the director of nursing) to be unprofessional and not understanding basic pathophysiology. I question how they were able to pass their registered nurse e ams. The director of nursing was rude and uncaring. I often found the nursing assistants on their phones instead of answering call lights. I had to perform most of the nursing care. I did not feel my husband at times was in the safest of places with his call lights going unanswered at times for over an hour. I even paid private duty to care for him over the weekend. Thank God my husband did not need prolonged care and I would have transferred him had it not been for the excellent physical and occupational therapy staff.

Prime example you get a letter in the mail to come in for a family care meeting you arrive 5 minutes early and are told to go sit in chairs. Your appointment time comes and goes after 20 minutes you go up to the front desk and the lady states did they not come get you. We said we were going to our mom room. They lady comes to mom room 10 minutes later and states they are ready for you. We told them forget the meeting our time is just as important as theirs. No communication nothing. This happens all the time. We were told from the very beginning my mom would be moving to the new renovated side within 6 months we'll that was 4 years ago. She's still in the smelly side of the whole building. Very sad. We have wanted to move our mom but she likes it their because she has friends. So what to do. We don't want to make her unhappy so We just suck it up. Horribly run place. They take no accountability. It's always someone else fault!

Worst of the worst. My sister laid in her pee and poop for hours. She contracted CDF. THE staff never recognized that her leg was infected. She had to go back to the hospital for surgery to remove infection. She missed a doctor appointment because the staff did not write it down on their calendar. This was an important appointment to the ortho doctor to see how her broken femur leg was healing. Then, come dismissal day, her paperwork and meds were not ready until around 3 pm that afternoon and the wheelchair she ordered to go home had not been ordered. She did not have a ride home at that hour of the day and had to spend another night. The administrator threatened to charge me $499 to stay one more night when their staff did not have her ready to leave at a reasonable hour in the morning. They wanted to send home a 72-year-old woman who had been in rehab for three months at 7:30 at night. No one knows what the other person is doing. No lack of communication between workers. Oh, and the food was terrible.
