Senior Suites of New City

Senior Suites of New City is an affordable senior housing community located in Chicago's Southwest Side, designed for adults age 62 and better. Operated by Senior Lifestyle's Senior Suites, which has pioneered affordable senior living in Chicago since 1995, the community is one of 24 such Senior Suites locations throughout the city, developed in cooperation with the City of Chicago.

Apartment homes feature spacious floor plans and modern conveniences, with monthly rent including heat, electric, and air conditioning (phone, cable, and internet are not included). Residents have access to common areas equipped with TVs and on-site parking, along with on-site maintenance for added convenience.

Dining emphasizes independence and choice, with residents able to cook in their own kitchens, share homemade dishes with neighbors, or visit local restaurants. Weekly grocery transportation helps residents keep their kitchens stocked.

Safety and support features include secure entry systems and electronic daily check-in services, along with a responsive team designed to give residents and their families peace of mind. The community also offers programs, events, and classes, including themed gatherings and seasonal celebrations, that encourage social connection and lifelong learning.

Residency requires applicants to be 62 or older and to apply and qualify for rental rates based on availability and income; leases are structured on a simple 12-month term. Those not ready to move immediately are encouraged to join a waiting list.
