Royal Park Rehabilitation & Health Center is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Matthews, North Carolina, conveniently located by I-485 and US-74. The center provides a complete continuum of care including short-term rehabilitation, long-term living, skilled nursing, outpatient therapy, hospice care, palliative care, and respite care.
Upon arrival, patients are greeted by a clinical team that develops a person-centered care plan designed to help regain skills and decrease the likelihood of hospital readmission. Highly trained in-house physical, occupational, and speech therapists develop individualized daily plans with achievable goals to help patients return to as full a lifestyle as possible following accidents, surgeries, strokes, or cardiac events. Physical therapy strengthens the body to improve mobility, balance, coordination, and joint movement; occupational therapy helps manage day-to-day tasks such as bathing, dressing, eating, and resuming hobbies; and speech therapy improves communication skills, cognitive function, and swallowing abilities.
The facility features a 6,500 square foot therapy gym equipped with a car simulator and an Activities of Daily Living Suite for occupational therapy sessions. Enhanced therapy services include diathermy and ultrasound to decrease pain and electrical stimulation to support improved joint movement and muscle strength.
Skilled nursing care is provided round-the-clock by registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants for both short-term and extended stays. Care features include wound care management with a dedicated wound care physician, cardiopulmonary therapy, fall interventions, incontinence management, IV therapy, full-time physician coverage, podiatry services, and psychosocial support.
The facility prioritizes safe discharge planning to support successful transitions back to patients' prior living settings.
