Otterbein New Albany is a skilled nursing and long-term care community in New Albany, Ohio, offering memory support, rehabilitation, and permanent residency services. The community is designed around five small houses, each housing a maximum of 12 residents, providing a home-like environment that contrasts with traditional institutional nursing facilities.

Care is delivered by licensed nurses, nursing assistants (called Elder Assistants), and therapists who provide consistent, around-the-clock support with a higher caregiver-to-elder ratio. Physical, speech, and occupational therapy services are available for residents undergoing rehabilitation after injury or illness, as well as for those with long-term care needs. Otterbein Home Health also provides personalized in-home care for seniors transitioning back to their own homes.

The small house model emphasizes personalized care and individual choice. Residents are encouraged to maintain independence by choosing their own wake times, meal selections, and daily activities without rigid schedules or strict mealtimes. Family-style meals are shared among residents, and families and friends are welcome to participate in activities and special occasions. The design was built using the Green House Project model, which reimagines long-term care as a comfortable, home-like setting rather than an institutional environment.
