About Us

Oakwood is a brand new, locally owned and operated community and we’re thrilled to welcome you. Our community has a quiet and comfortable feel and is located right in the heart of Columbus. We offer thoughtful, expert Assisted Living care in studios designed to encourage independence, dignity and social connection.

A beautiful building is important, and Oakwood has the modern amenities and comfort you would expect. But it’s what happens inside these walls that makes our community special.

Our Wellness Director not only creates Personal Service Plans for each resident when they join the community, she and her team routinely reassess residents for emergent needs. Everyone makes it their job to understand what makes a resident happy.

We believe in the power of good nutrition, fellowship and freshly prepared, home-cooked meals, so we employ an Executive Chef to plan our menus, train our staff and create a delicious restaurant-style dining experience. We ask for our residents’ suggestions and recipes to incorporate comfort foods and personal favorites and we serve breakfast throughout the day.

Above all, we make room for the important things over the routines of the day. Sitting together and listening to a story, holding a hand, learning something new about a resident’s life and remembering we are in the presence of people who have shaped our world. These moments don’t show up in our job descriptions, but they make up the most meaningful parts of our day. We know how important they are.

ASSISTED LIVING

Enjoy the people, places and things in Columbus that you’ve always loved, with the added peace of mind that comes from knowing our licensed nursing staff is on-site for you 24 hours a day. Caregivers are always on hand, but it brings many residents and families extra comfort knowing nursing care—licensed in the state of Ohio—is available at all times of the day.

Prior to your arrival at Oakwood, we create a personalized service plan designed to meet your individual needs. Your plan includes any ongoing assistance you may require with daily care and activities, leaving everything else in your capable hands. Your service plan can also be updated at any time to accommodate your changing needs.

Residents may receive assistance with bathing, grooming and dressing, at mealtimes, when taking medication, moving throughout their home and much more.  A mobile emergency response system is also provided that will summon help at any time of the day.
