The hallway smells like urine there is no where to sit when you visit your family unless they’re in a wheelchair and you have to take them out on the porch. If you come after 6 to visit the front door is locked and it takes 30 minutes before someone comes to unlock the door. The color is depressing and everything is plain. The walls are bare with no artwork to display what the residents are doing in activities. There are no social outings for the residents they have the same activities over and over. Please don’t bring family members to this place for rehab 30 minutes is not adequate for a session.

Was moved from UAB hospital to OAK Knoll on a Friday night at around 8pm. My room was so tiny not enough room for anything, I had a roommate she was very nice lady but she told me alot about her stay there and the situation of the establishment. I am on oxygen 24/7 I have to have my 02 bumped up during activities such as going to the restroom and other things. We'll I told them I had to use the restroom and I had to have my oxygen bumped up they said oh we can't do that we're just going to let you use the bedpan, they made me use the bedpan! They didn't have my nighttime meds I was supposed to take before bedtime, I pushed the call light it took 2 hours for a nurse to come see what I needed, the place was nasty and smelled awful. The technology was ancient the hospital bed looked like it was from the 70s the call light was one of the old kind. They wouldn't let me have a bedside commode and they never asked if I had had dinner or anything to eat or wanted to have anything to drink. The nurses acted like I was bothering them and a burden. So I went back to UAB to the ER at 2 in the morning and then came home. Never let anyone you love or care about stay in this God Forsaken Hell Hole!

As a concerned family member looking for a safe and caring rehabilitation center for my loved one, I was hesitant after seeing the one-star reviews. However, after speaking with Andre in the Admissions Department, my concerns were met with professionalism, empathy, and transparency. Andre had a great attitude and took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. He acknowledged the past issues and explained that the facility is now under new administration, with a new staff committed to turning things around. His voice was both delightful and reassuring, firm, yet caring. It was clear that he takes the responsibility of patient care seriously, no matter what the reviews may have said. I told him I felt led to call and speak with him, it truly felt like divine guidance. As a businessperson myself, I know the importance of being given a chance to earn trust, and I believe Andre and his team deserve that same opportunity. I’m very pleased with his demeanor and optimistic outlook on the facility’s future. Based on our conversation alone, I felt compelled to leave a 5 star review.

I drove to Oak Knoll to see my mother, I stay out of town. I called there first. The lady at the front desk was very rude and nasty to me. If she talked to me rude and nasty. I just can't imagine how she treats the elderly. While there visiting my mom 10min.someone comes in the room and asks me how much longer was I going to be there.Wow. Because she needed to bath her and the other lady in the room. Wow I'm going to try to find another place for my mother.
