I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with this company. I signed up for respite care because I am a full-time caregiver for my mom and truly need reliable support. Unfortunately, the service has been anything but reliable. Just last week (Thursday), I was scheduled to have a caregiver come out. I was first told someone was coming, then received a call saying they had called off. They later said they found a replacement, only to call me again 30 minutes before the shift to say that person had also called off. Then today, a caregiver showed up unannounced at 7:35 AM with no prior communication that anyone would be coming. She was dressed in a sweatshirt, leggings, and flip-flops, and had no visible badge or identification. While she seemed kind, the lack of professionalism and communication was very concerning. She was also told by the company to leave after communicating to them that I had said no one told me she would be coming even though I expressed she could stay the remainder of the shift. As someone who cares for my mom 24/7, has left my job to do so, and is also raising two young children, I depend on respite care to provide some level of relief. Not knowing if someone is going to show up or being notified last minute that they’re not is incredibly frustrating and adds more stress instead of helping. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. Reliable communication and professionalism are critical in this line of work, and unfortunately, that has not been my experience.

Duffy Towey was an amazing help to our family. I was met with opposition at every turn but Duffy helped me wade through the paperwork and process of getting my dad's application processed and helped get us a doctor's appointment to start getting him the help that we needed. He was so kind and helpful!!

Right at Home has been so supportive as my husband and I began to care for my mother with dementia immediately after my dad's death. They not only rapidly scheduled high quality sitters but their on-call weekend staff provided encouraging advice when I was worried about my mother's poor intake. I highly recommend them for home care.

Oh my.... There is some much I want to say. Right at Home in Birmingham, AL has been a heaven sent. My sister and I needed immediate care for my mother coming from the hospital. I started the process on Thursday and all paperwork was done by Friday, during the weekend I called for care starting Monday. Everything was taken care of without incident. Ms. Judy, Ms. Deanne, Ms. Sharon, Ms. Luri are absolutely wonderful. Keep in mind I was handling the majority of everything while living in a different state than my mom and sister. We are so happy with the care that we have received from everyone. Do not hesitate to contact them for your loved one.

Before we moved out of state, we had been with Right at Home from when they first started and were their longest-serving client. To be honest, we miss this agency! The owner, Beau, and Alecia, office manager, were top rate. They had our back, so to speak. Their commitment was to getting us care, good care. It took awhile before they were able to find the right fit - unfortunately all agencies have this issue - but now that we are away, we miss them a lot. I heartily recommend them. However, I tell everyone, always be around no matter what agency you have. This is not a substitute for family, just a help for family to be sure your loved one gets the right care. Go Right at Home!
