Like any thing, things could be better or improved upon. The garden areas are lovely and the outdoor space. My mom and I loved seeing the two dogs Bogey and Duke so we hope you will consider pet visitors in the future. I plan to volunteer to maintain the garden areas through the Summer. I know being outdoors is important to many residents to help them enjoy the fresh air and to improve their wellbeing.

Our family member is a resident at Matulaitis Nursing Home. We are confident that she is in the best place for her. She receives excellent care, encouragement, and support. The nursing staff watches her condition and gives medical attention and treatment as needed and calls us to report updates and changes. The Activity Dept.does an outstanding job in providing activities to stimulate and bring enjoyment to every day. Matulaitis has become more than professionals doing their job...to us, Matulaitis is like family.

When you or your loved one enters Matulaitis, you are automatically part of their family and are treated as such. My loved one is always treated with kindness and respect. The families are also treated the same. Everyone's door is always open to support you and listen. The entire staff is pleasant and helpful. The patients, their rooms and the halls are bright, welcoming and clean. When you walk in the front door, you are greeted mostly by Christine who is pleasant, well informed and able to answer any question you have. If you have a request, she will do whatever she can to assist you. Everyone makes you and your loved one feel at ease. It is also important to us that their beautiful Chapel has services every morning and is a place you can visit any time during the day. When you're loved one can't be at home, it's comforting knowing they are in wonderful, caring hands.

My mother was a resident at this nursing home. On March 30 the. I received a call from Bonnie nurse on my mother wing. She said mom was having trouble breathing and had fever. I asked for the NP to access Mom. She called and said Mom was going to Daykimball ER. I received call from ER doctor that Mom was passing Away. I rushed to the hospital a and was told Mom passed. After the shock of Mom passing away so suddenly. I planned her wake and funeral. When I went to get clothes for her wake. Not even 24 hours after Mom passed they packed up all her things and placed them in a large room. Like my mother did not matter to them. I called today and asked for Bonnie Mom head nurse on C wing. I want to go over everything with her on the morning my mom had passed. She was extremely rude and said I am not discussing this with you. That I was recording her. That is not true. I had never recorded anything I talked about with any staff member. This is how this nurse is treating family members of the residents who passed away. Be very careful about leaving your Loved one in this facility.

My mother lived at Matulitis for 3 1/2 years and we lived 2 miles away so we were there often. I cannot tell you how happy we were with the care she got. She was treated with kindness, patience, professionalism, and respect. When she needed hospice care, they provided it and we will always be thankful for the extremely kind and compassionate way they treated her….and us. My husband has already told me….and them….that should he ever need placement, that’s where he’s going!
