When my mother needed care, one of the best things that happened to us was her placement at Marquis.

From day one, the team went above and beyond. They were strong advocates for my mother and provided a customized care plan that brought together the right therapists, specialists, and resources.

What stood out most was the combination of excellent clinical care and genuine compassion.

In addition to outstanding care for my mother, they also offered support and guidance for our family during an overwhelming and uncertain time.

If you are looking for skilled nursing care for a loved one, based on my experience, you can feel confident in choosing Marquis.

Our experience has been horrible for my poor Mom. She has to wait hours for pain meds that were due hours earlier then they brush her off and say sorry were short staffed. All the while she is crying in bed in so much pain. They take so long to help her when she presses the button to go to the bathroom she soils herself. They forgot her dinner. All this and they tell me there is no one I can talk to over the weekend for help. This has been a traumatic experience for the whole family.

The Nursing staff at this facility are amazing they are all personable, kind, kind and caring. My mother was in for some rehab after a procedure and the nursing staff cared for all of her needs famously.

The reason for the low score is the the abysmal social worker in charge of my mother's case. She consistently gave incorrect information, would say she took care of something and did not, and whenever you tried to call her out on her behavior. she would get defensive and try to pass the buck back to us. I had to resort to recording all my interactions with her since I could not trust her to follow through and not try to blame the family for her mistakes.

I have worked with a lot of social workers in my career as an educator and the good ones listen, follow through, show compassion for the people they are paid to care for and take ownership of their mistakes when they make them.. They do not lie, get defensive, pass the blame to the person they are supposed to be taking care of, and tell family members to shut up when they question a mistake.

I do highly recommend the facilities health care staff, but if your social worker's name starts with a J. . . don't have a conversation with her without several witnesses with you and do not trust that she is doing any of the things she said she was. Check in on her progress daily and ask for any and all records and confirmations of what she did. J is the worst. If you can request a different Social Worker do it, her counter part seems great, but they were trying to fix a situation J created.
