UPDATE: Our mother lived here for about 2.5 years and unfortunately died here. I wanted to update my original review since Sunrise (the original home she moved into was purchased by Ivy Park after about 6 months of her move in date) Ivy Park is the complete opposite of what we wanted for our Mom. Once they took over, everything went downhill FAST! Almost all of the original staff left and most of the new hires were very young, undertrained, underpaid individuals that were in over their heads. My mother was in no position to be moved unfortunately, but most of the original residents I knew had been moved out by their families. It was very clear the new owners only cared about making money and not the residents well being. I spent almost every day at Ivy Park looking after my mother and advocating for her when she was no longer able to herself. I want to make clear that the staff did the best they could and this is not a review about anyone personally, this is about the corporation that owns Ivy Park. They took an amazing home for our loved ones to live out the remainder of their lives and turned it into an institution that only cares about money. I would never recommend Ivy Park to anyone. We looked at many different places for our Mom in the West Valley and they could not compare to Sunrise West Hills, we knew immediately this is the place Mom needed to be! The facility itself is gorgeous and comforable with many different areas for residents to sit, play games, listen to music, watch movies, including a beautiful room with a fireplace and piano. The food is amazing (my husband and I have eaten here many times with my Mom and are always delighted by the many daily choices and quality of the food), they even have room service! They have many different daily activies from chair Zumba, to a walking club, movie nights, family brunches, Yoga, they even have live entertainment. The care is top notch and you can tell all the employees actually love their jobs and care about their residents like they are their own family members. My Mother had a really hard time when she had to move from her home of over 50 years into a care facility and the staff at Sunrise made this transistion so much easier for her. She now says daily that she is so happy and loves her new home and new friends. I HIGHLY recommend Sunrise West Hills to anyone who has a loved one that needs assisted living, they are truly the best!
