This is an amazing facility. The care is excellent, the food is great, and every area is well thought out. This type of move is hard on families, but they have done everything they can to make their residents feel comfortable. Lastly, Leslie is a gem, she really cares about the families and helps others as much as she can. I highly recommend this facility.

This was my first time walking through the doors of Vernita to visit my parents in their new Assisted Living Community. I flew in just yesterday (and YES, my arms are tired....)and was lucky enough to have Passover dinner with my dad. Unfortunately, mom was unable to dine with us- but that is where I saw just how kind and accommodating the staff was. Maria was welcoming, and Bianca and Julia went out of their way to make sure my mom had a piping hot dinner sent to her room, (without having to wait for us to dine first, and then bring her back dinner from the buffet, afterwards) -AND she immediately found precious Ruby to feed her. They were so genuinely caring towards me, knowing my mom is struggling through this ruthless, progressive health situation-more importantly, they were concerned about my mom, AND my dad. Concerned for my dad because of the toll her suffering has had on him. I reported back to my mom that they made this Passover Seder very special. The food was DELICIOUS. The salmon was perfection-and as a pescatarian, I have had my share of salmon, so I don't say that, lightly. They had all of the traditional Passover food and wine -all, presented beautifully! The tables were decorated with gorgeous flowers, festive embossed napkins, and they truly went above and beyond with a Seder Plate on every table. The serving staff was sweet, patient, and attentive. The residents were also very welcoming! I took a quick tour around the facility, and I was impressed. It was clean and lovely. Why is my review mostly about one Passover Dinner? Because that is all I have to go on for now, and sweet Zach asked if I would write a review after I gushed to him how impressed I was with the food, the presentation, and how lovely everybody was to us.(A promise is a promise...).On a serious note, my mom's care is what is important, and Zach took the time to ask what they could do to improve or try to make my mom more comfortable. THAT is what is important, and truly appreciated. xo

Our 85 yo dad has been at Varenita since they opened and spent one year in assisted-living and the last two years in memory care. Peace of mind is what we have experienced by placing him at Varenita. The staff has been stellar, very caring, very loving, and there hasn't been the rate of turnover that you typically experience in these type of facilities. Christina, the events coordinator, has amazing energy, patience, follow through and does a fantastic job keeping residents safe and engaged, as does the other care staff. The food has been really good and the top notch events and activities have kept our dad as mentally sharp as can be expected. We have to give a shout out to Mirella, Daisy, Maria, Adriana, Maritza, Maggie, Lisa, Lisola, Julia, Jordy and Sean just to name a few of the caregivers that have a gift and passion for what they do. They have become family to us all, and we highly recommend Varenita.

Excellent activities and food. Those are very important to dad and he gets both at Varenita of Westlake. Beautiful community and all the residents we see are so happy and look well cared for. Zak, the director, is excellent at communication and is always available for any feedback or suggestions. The care team and med techs are so caring; they have so much passion for what they do…this is more than a job for them, it’s a calling.

Varenita of Westlake is a home with a uniquely educated and authentic staff who exhibit integrity and kindness. Their Philosophy of wellness and the "benefits of memory care" don't stop when loved ones are out of your site. You can see the proof that the staff are supported by the owners, which allows staff to do and be their best. We are so blessed to have my father who has progressive dementia living in memory care. My dad lived in his past home for 45 years, with his wife (Both educated professionals Ph.D/MA) and when he (widowed) walked into Varenita and was shown the single available room, he said, "when do I get a key?" He loves it there and feels among peers at Varenita. Thank you to the Founding Family who envisioned Varenita and brought this community to life!
